I think everyone here is losing site of the fact that none of us could feel that steering wheel in the video. Therefor, none of us can prove how slippery the road is. I've driven my whole life in these types of winter conditions and I gauge my speed off many variables. From sight ALONE the road appears to be just snow covered with little to no ice and good visibility which in my opinion makes it a good road. Although, I do have to agree some parts of the video look sped up.

Only problems I saw were:
1.) Lack of following distance from the vehicles in front of the truck, but that's a particular bug up of mine. And the camera angle was off a bit, so the perspective could have been skewed, and the driver could have been further back than it looked in the video.
and 2.) A little too much time worrying about the camera, and not eough time paying attention to the road. But again some of that video looked like it was shot from the jump seat, so he must have had help.
Other than that, the roads looked alot like what we get around here on a typical winter day, so it didn't look to slippery. But I wasn't behind the wheel, so can't guarantee that. -
How about at 0.52 seconds right hand lane to left crossing over middle lane like it was not there... very close to truck in front...

I see this every winter and in worse conditions.. the trucks are usually the fastest things on the highway when the snow hits the fan.

this is not unsafe at all. you guys writing that must be from the south. When it comes to driving on snow and ice if you go to slow then you WILL hit the ditch...if you go to fast then you will hit the ditch. There is a fine balance in winter road driving.
johnday Thanks this. -
if you have weight and its in the right place you are fine--good tires help
its usually the people going too slow that you have to worry about--you have to drive for the other people as well
and that weather wasnt too bad--at least the plows were out,and not hiding as usualjr-transport and johnday Thank this. -
