If this subject doesn't qualify as experienced to newbie advice, my apologies. (I figure the mods will move to wherever they see fit.)

What T/S sticks in your mind for how it was obviously laid out to extract the absolute maximum number of parking spots, to the total exclusion reasonableness and safety?

I nominate the Flying J in Aurora, CO. (1 blk S of 70, just west of Airport Blvd & across the street from the International dealer.)

Backing a normal 53' trailer into one of those spots gives you about a foot all around. A forward-set spread axle w/lots of swing and you're down to inches. It's simply nuts.

    Probably Bordentown pilot----exit 7 on NJTPK, exit 56 I-295.

i think this is the kind of place where you want to get in before 5pm and if you're the type that leaves late---like after 9am, then this could work out for you.

Neither the this pilot or the petro next door are nessesarily any good as far as truckstops go.

Loves in Prescott AR gets a nod from me, for piss poor lay out.

I could think of a dozen (or two) others that appear to have been laid out using a single axle cab over pulling a 45 foot trailer, as a guideline for marking off spaces.

They are so many that is laid out poorly sometimes wonder what kind of jerk designed them. Most are in the northeast ..But in all they DONT want you there any longer than to get fuel and LEAVE...Welcome to the trucking world...The futher you go west the better it gets EXCEPT around bigger cities

That would be #1 and #2 is the Flying J in Troutdale,OR because on the west side of the parking lot you gotta back into the lot to park.

Pilots on I-81 in VA: Ex150 (can just barely get thru the fuel islands), Ex213 (you must exit fuel islands thru the parking lot, which adds another >=15min to your fuel stop waiting for guys to park. I-64 in VA, Ex211, is usually a fusterCluck, and will cost you >=15 min. min. I never stop at the Pilot in Greeneville, TN, I-81, Ex36; it's always backed up; only 3 fuel islands. Likewise I-40, Ex374 (Lovell Rd) KnoxVegas, Tn., never go there! There is also a Pilot in Oh., between Cinn. & Columbus. I can't remember the exit (50?), but you should avoid it, too.

Oh yes, there is also the Pilot in Corbin, Ky. IF you try to park in the "pull-thru" sites... your mirror will be less than 5" from the trucks on either side of you. I just don't like getting that close.

Yes that is another great idea from PILOT ....Does it seem that pilots are the worst I know I use loves quiet abit and they seem small too but they seem alittle better towards the drivers

Yep, I just LOVE going to a Love's. They usually have so much more room than a Pilot. I hate the Pilots, but I HAVE to fuel there, so ...
