All truckers...

You are spot on! I I I want it NOW. People want the pay check but, not the work. Whining won't help. I have the perfect Trucking job. I got it by hard WORK and a little luck.

 

Well, who was it that raised these little ***ards? Oh, would that be our generation? Were we the ones giving everything to them and not expecting anything in return, like clean your room...or vacuum the living room...or do the dishes...or (insert favorite chore here) and then make them do it before giving them those $150 Reeboks?

I had to chop wood. I had to fill in stump holes. I had to move last year's cow manure into the garden and this year's into the compost pile. And after that, I had to do all of the above mentioned house chores and then some.

We have done this to ourselves. We, as the "new generation's" parents, have given them the idea they don't have to do anything except veg out in front of the TV or play video games all the time. We have created this Gollum. Now we have to live with it.

That is it exactly, I spent 3 years living in a 24 foot camper, eating ramen and saving money any way I could so I could have my shop, and have a business of my own, and here I am with 6 people working for me, and a good little deal going that is looking like it is fixing to turn into something even better.

It is all about sacrifice now to achieve greater things later.

If the biggest complainers just leave, then that gives us wanabees more chances to get into trucking...

Whatever happened to just having a go-getter attitude and going after what you want? No one on a website or radio can help decide what you do and don't want out of life.

Usually there are things in life that bother me and I speak my mind on such issues. It's better than sitting behind a screen with a closed mouth, quiet, and wondering what other people will
think of me if I say something.

Heck, I think this forum is a great place for people to be able to sit down and just say what is on their mind. When something aggrivates me, I am able to get home everyday and let some steam off ... you guys and gals doing OTR are stuck out there with your own thoughts ... if you don't have a place to vent it can be damaging to your health. In situations where you feel that you have been wronged ... there is definately a mental process which takes over. The mind is it's own place ... and in itself can make a heaven of hell or a hell out of heaven. The way that you make your way through life is determined not so much by what life throws at you, but by the attitude that you throw back at it ... or to put it another way ... not so much by what happens to you as the way your mind looks at what happened. Yeah ... bad things are gonna happen in EVERYBODY'S life and these situations and circumstances will have a tendency to color your view ... but you have the option of determining what color it shall be.
