Trucker accused of killing co-driver declared insane

I drove team in 1986 for about six months, I had a different partner every week. I met mostly good people, but a few were definitely one slice short of a loaf. What a way to go, the guy you're depending on to keep you alive while you're sleeping, stabs you to death while you're driving.

 

Unreal that guy deserves to fry...acting on orders from god...give me a break...when did God start telling people to have a jihad on truckers

 

His company will make him a trainer now!
Strong disciplinarian! Turns out good students into well disciplined drivers that obey!

i think the "temporary insanity" defense is a crock of ####. everyone uses that now because they go to a mental institution instead of prison where they belong. We should go back to the old days there if you killed a man you were put to death. Now everyone just goes to jail, does their time, gets out and does it again. You can actually kill a person and get out of jail sooner then a person that deal drugs now. How screwed up is that?

There are crazies all over the world. They walk amongst us. Sad that this guy who was just out doing his job, tryin' to make a buck and had one of the aforementioned crazies in the truck with him.

As far as "the way they did it in the old days" thing. There are places in the world now where they STILL live that way. We watch the news and say how backward these countries are. Thanks but I don't want to be in that place.

 

I once drove team back around 1988-89 for a local/otr company and I awoke to a stong, pungent, burning odor. I pulled back the curtain to see my co-driver with a crushed can he was smoking crack out of! ######! Needless to say, that partnership ended abruptly and I've been solo ever since. Though this is not as tragic, it could have been.
