The economy is tight. In a lot of trucking companies the left hand doesn't know what the right is doing. And when management is messed up. you know what runs down hill.:biggrin_2557:

I have to disagree. Most whiners I see and hear are around the 35-50 age. Though what you say about the younger generations being spoiled is true, you don't hear them on the radio much. The older generations rag them so much, I wouldn't listen to it either. Most rather put someone down than help them. That's not the way I was raised.

Times are changing. Generations are changing. It's just part of life.
Remember when you were a kid. You always had ideas that your parents didn't approve of. Certain clothes you wanted to wear, etc. The older generations said the same thing about you. And in 20 years from now, the new truckers will be complaining about the next generations.

Whiners started when deregulation and the gov't stepped in with all the rules. Plus there is ten times as much traffic on the roads. Companies have slowly stripped drivers of their livelyhood. The me, me, me is companies, brokers, shippers and receivers. Drivers are fed up and don't have the power to fix it. So as their only outlet, they complain amongst each other.

I have faith in the new generations. They are overseas fighting and dying for your freedom right now. The colleges are full. They are not all playing on Xbox. You can read the post on here. The new guys have a real passion about getting into the industry. No matter how you were raised, you grow up to the reality of work to survive.

You have to admit, there are just a handful of good driving jobs and several waiting to fill them seats. We all paid are dues and want that seat. There just isn't enough of them.

Did I tell you how my company sucks? I'm tired of.... :biggrin_2559:

Well Driver, im 28, and man have I seen a ton of whining from people a few years older and younger, a lot of complaining about how life is not fair.

I will also say the people who have served in our military as a rule really dont fall into this, and this is why at my company I will hire a veteran before I will hire anyone else.

I am not talking about how the older generation disaproves of the younger generations music, style or clothes, that is a given, that is the way of the world.

You know, this may sound like im trying to have a crappy life but...once I get started in trucking? IM looking FORWARD to my first truck having 'personality' like how it will dump me out of bed every morning, or you know, 'she is just tempermental about that sixth gear' :)

Old equipment, bad equipment, its all a mind set, "Personality" is a way to look at it.

As for the people that dont wanna work? They only jip themself. If I was handed a brand new truck top of the line everything..what do I get to look forward to?

But if I run for two years in a truck that likes to spit winshield washer fluid at me when I open the gas cap, well, then when I step into a truck that is newer, I will feel important. I earned it.

I hope your not talking to me Easy, because frankly, it makes no sense to throw into this conversation, there is nothing wrong with talking about what was, and should be and what is...infact your sig is a good example of it, your expressing your dislike of things, so one could say "Suck it up, or go to another country" :)
