Very good point indeed, i had a similar one myself, it did help me not to think of "pass or fail" but rather drive like i know i can and just think of him as a co-driver![]()

Wow, this is all about belleye freaking out....LOL!
Well, got my flatbed truck today. Still a '06 Freightliner w/APU, however, this one has 626k on the clock. Not in bad shape, body is actually better on this than my last truck, however the interior needs another serious cleaning like the last one did. Altho, when you get into this truck, it does smell clean. Last one smelled like a chain smoker died in it. Only thing tho that I'm not happy with is the fact that it has super singles. Will get the joy of dealing with that this winter. Although, one plus side, I'll have more reason to get off bad roads. One last problem, its got the APU, but someone removed the power inverter for some reason, probably to put it in another truck, but didn't tell anyone, and didn't replace it. Talked to the shop, and they told me they didn't have any, so tomorrow the head guy will get to deal with it. Either order one or take one from another truck. We'll see!
Anyways, start load securement training at 7am, so almost time for bed. -
I Had super singles on my f/b truck when i worked 4 Roehl. Never shut down due too weather, although, you will have trouble backing under empty f/b's.LOL
now they did come out with supers that had larger lugs on the outside tread for better traction. also, you get a blowout your done until it's fixed.
cheers, -
I'm OK..... Just excited..... Points all taken and the exuberance is just a shadow of the absolute admiration I have for you all already performing this occupation. I will join you all soon.... Winding up home tasks today I have had on the honey do list for years.... My wife says I really do wait till the last second... Order of priority I say.... Staying busy. Did I mention I am ready to go?

Etch, Listen..... I'm coming in from a 25 year career in a CREW environment in a PRESS ROOM... I have operated a HUGE M-3000 offset press (just 1 of many styles and sizes) with multiple computer systems and countless variables that all go wrong everyday causing malfunctions I overcome countless times daily... I am use to getting screwed every day.... To add to the mechanical breakdowns now add in 6 crew members with their heads in their (*$$es) screwing me every day... I have lost 1/2 of my hair dealing with the short comings of others in a deadly environment... One guy walked up to me holding his hands in the fist positions and said : "Belleye, I got a problem!!!" He opened his hands to show me FLAT FINGERS exploded form the sides like stepped on frankfurters OOZING & BLEEDING from all sides (8 of them)... He fell to his knees and started to pass out... I had to deal with emergency medical procedures spontaneously... He ran his hands in the press... I did not falter and he kept his fingers and eventually regained the use of them.... Another time another fellow came running up to me (SCREAMING) holding his hand with blood pouring from his gripped hand & running off his elbow like a waterfall... I grabbed him sat him down on the floor and then he opened his clutching hand... STUMPS for fingers with blood shooting out all over... I applied a arm tourniquet and proceeded to administer emergency care until the ambulance arrived. I found his fingers (IN THE FOLDER) and iced them and yes.... they were re-attached and the man has fingers with limited use today....Another time I was walking toward maintenance and seen a fellow cutting a 55 gal drum in half with a torch. It was for a keg of beer for the Co picnic the following day. He did not remove the cap on the metal drum and when the blue flame penetrated the shell of the drum it exploded and blew him 10 feet into the air and engulfed him in flames. He got up off the ground and came screaming and running rite at me ... I tackled him and took off my shirt and extinguished his burning body.. It was a empty drum but still had fumes trapped inside of MEK (Methol-Ethol- Keytone) .The man had 98% of his body burnt... I did not falter I controlled the situation and the man lived (wished he died though...ugly scene and his own fault) STRESS? Yes.... I'm ready to deal with a blowout, a tire fire or a delay..... It would be a relief to just take care of myself and the truck..... I'm not implying its easer or less stress but I need a change after 25 years of being a baby setter for slackers and scum non working people.... I have been conditioned to react not panic.. Hell? It's relevant I guess and don't worry, your all getting a fellow out there who THINKS as well as cares about his fellow drivers... I guess were all in this HELL together.... so move over... I hope the seat is still warm my good man..... Please welcome the new fire tender..... Again I asked for this change.... You (after I fail and learn) can count on me to help you if you are down.... I WILL STOP! You have a friend coming out into your hell and going to try to cool it down for you... All I can do is give 110% my man. Circumstances will rule always but perhaps my disposition will effect the temperatures I experience... I get you, really I do... It's HOT as heck and I really don't know how HOT... but deep down inside I feel I need to have a change in my life to a more personal effecting realm... Hats off to all you drivers who make the daily fight seem do able. I still aspire to be as well groomed as you all and.......... I will.... PS: I got my sunscreen lotion.

Gee Man, I'll be looking for you if I make it past the medical... I have been conditioning myself now for 2 months with Cardio exercises. I get a hart rate of 168 (MAX) at 15 min of running.... I might pull 98 after doing 10 squats.... My magic number is 156.5 (BPM).. I train HARD but I'm not sure about blood pressure... I have a excitement problem.... I like to operate at 110%... (318 Detroit ASTRO 2 stroke style)... Trying to install a conversion kit to a MBE 4 stroke..... We will see..... No coffee or sugar or salt .... Just bananas from here on in until supper Tuesday eveng... Then I hit the BUFFET!!!!! hahahahahahahahahahaa... I kill myself sometimes.... All the respect deserved to all who deserve it.... Koodo's and I'll keep the stupidity coming....

I left 20 years in a office environment and I would NEVER go back. I have found out I love this thing called trucking. Everyday I cherish my life on the road. Your attitude will be what carries you through the tough times and you will see the side of trucking that people that view it only as a job cannot see. My wife asked me the other day if I could ever go back to how my life was before trucking. My friend, I would rather be 6 feet under than return to the place from where I came. Good Luck Belleye.Belleye Thanks this.
