    No, everyone isn't.

I have 300 min during daytime, nights and weekends free. I use this for the annoying 30-45 min conferencing calls my boss insists on holding once a week. Also, my cell phone decided to call it quits on me last month, the day after I left the house, so I had to live without one for 12 days until I got back to the house. Talk about a pain in the a#$. This would have been a huge help if it had came out a few weeks sooner.

It's part of Google voice, which in itself is a cool service. You can get a new phone number, pair it up with any and as many phones you want. No more paying a fee to keep a number if you change companies.

    No.

I cannot get unlimited because I have the Canadian package on my phone in order to save on calls when in Canada.

They have told me that if I go unlimited I return back to the higher costs for Canada calls. .70 per minute on the phone and long distance is .50 per minute.

    thelastamericanhippy Thanks this.

Anyone currently using Google Voice? I'm thinking, I hope I remember all these features when I can put them to use.

The Google Voice system lets you:

Record phone conversations by pressing '4' during a call, seems handy for replays if you don't a pen
Add multiple telephone #s and the caller will see your Google Voice #, no matter which line they call
Spam callers can be intercepted, stopped
Send a 'missed call' message to Email
Personalize the greeting based on the caller
Block callers, caller will hear "this phone number has been disconnected"
    Forward calls
Voice mails can be transcribed to texts

The above features can be customized. The service is free for calls originating within the USA. A fee for International (including Canada).

Here's the support site showing the features available: https://support.google.com/voice/?g...edium=GettingStarted&utm_campaign=guide=22635

    Here's a video link of features: http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html

there are tons of apps that have been around longer then google voice. and they work quite well. too.

wish i could remember the names of the 2 i used to use. back when long distance WASN'T free.

i used to have google voice. but never used the service. google has since expired my number. but it did come in handy once for a anonymous text that i used for my uncle to get his stuff back from some guy.

it's a pretty useful thing to use if you need more then the basic that i only needed with the 2 services i started out with.

I have two telephone #s and like that I can ring them both to one, central Voicemail.

I'd like to try other apps to see compare and see what the differences are. The problem I think I might run into is my Android doesn't have much internal memory for apps. I just have a few essentials and only have 32 mb left for anything else.

Which apps do you know of?

if you can. go into your settings and move all the apps you can into your sdhc memory card. (hope you have one).

it was a standard feature back in the earlier android versions. i haven't been able to do it with 4.0 versions. but some phones DO have that capability.
you might have to look into an app called apps2sd. but that'll free up some memory.

i've been hearing talk lately about something called KIK. haven't looked at it so i don't know anything about it.

type in voip apps in the market place. to see what's there. or do a google on the internet. someone is bound to have a review of the best apps.
