And they probably have all kinds of other battery operated toys other than their car.

TLeaHeart, really enjoy reading your posts. I was O/O in the 80's to mid 90's. Done a little otr since then but nothing serious (3 months here and there). It's interesting to read your net pay per mile. What do you think your hourly pay comes to when you include everything you would consider as "work"?

I don't figure that number, does not concern me. I make a comfortable living and am enjoying what I do. First job in 30 years I can say that about.

I understand that. Driving is what I have always enjoyed most. It's like Wow, somebody is willing to pay me for doing this. I had to figure my hourly pay once just for my own info. Came up with a range of around $4.00 - $17.00 usually averaged about $14. Still get to go "on the road" now and again with a local company that hauls for CHR. Glad to see you are making it as a lease operator since I read mostly negative remarks. The thought of trading for a newer truck as the warranty expires is appealing.

    Oil changes?
Do you get oil changed every week(3000 miles)? If so, average cost?? If not, how often??

    Thanks

Do oil changes come out of the .03 per mile? Also, is the .03 per mile odometer miles or paid miles?
    Thanks

    Let me check my logbook

Every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. The higher the mileage on the engine the more often the oil change.

Stevens want the Oil changed every 30,000 miles. Yes my maintenance account more than covers that. $250 every 10 to 12 weeks, not a big expense.

Everything is based on dispatched miles, not actual miles.

    Lilbit Thanks this.

Well TleaHeart Love your thread. Used your Name and truck number on my application. I was looking to go out with Stevens and was ready to start school this week, but got a call back from Josie in recruiting last Thursday saying not yet. Last December I had a Motorcycle accident, where at a red light,I was hit from behind by a Illegal Alien in a sedan. He Knocked me into the rear of the the sedan in front of me. The IA got out asked me if I was ok in spanish as I laid half under my smashed Victory Kingpin. When I answered I was still alive and That he would not be when I got out from under my broken Kingpin, he hopped back in his car and head South on I-19 to Nogales. I sent the complete report(no fault for me) to Stevens and Some Rocket Scientist there decided that since my MC had been smashed against the car in front of me, that I had actually rear-ended that car. Josie said she would give me a pre-hire for the month after the one year anniversery of the accident(Jan11). So I will got school next Monday at Central in Salt Lake. Thanks for the good info(Thats for all of you on this thread) and hope to see you out there rolling. Robert
