So here I am, 2 states from home, when I've realized I forgot my license at home. I'm on day 2 of a 10 day trip from MI to OR, then WA and back.
Should I have a photo copy faxed to me? Will it do any good? Any other ideas other than hope for the best?
What would you do if you forgor your id?

If you have someone at home, they can package it up and overnight it to you at a T/S ahead of you. Get a truck stop directory for a phone number to contact the forward T/S.
Texas-Nana, Roadmedic and hunts2much Thank this. -

Keep in mind this is a holiday weekend, so get a delivery schedule/estimate from Fed Ex, and make sure you contact (by phone) the forward T/S...speak directly to the manager, not just some desk clerk...just CYA you know.

Is it the same in a truck as it is in a personal vehicle?
I got a ticket many years ago for not having my license on me when pulled over, and my wife got one a couple years back. Both were in our state of issue, but the fines were only $35.
If things are the same, it would seem to be not worth the hassle of being worried about it. I imagine that they could pull up your info on the computer really easy, especially if you have other ID or know your license number.
I assume that there has to be something involved that I am not thinking of. -

CDL fines are ALWAYS more than a 4wheeler fine ...Its the ( your a professional you should know better ) speech but we are nothing more than common labor so they say

Have if faxed to you with a copy of the med card, and twic card if you have it. If you know where your going to be for sure have it fed X ahead, reciever, shipper, Truckstop fuel desk, but talk to where its going to be sent to before setting it up. You may find thos is not as strange as you think.
Roadmedic Thanks this. -
Here in my home town there were two different tickets you could get. One being failure to have a drivers license and the second was failure to exihibit. If we were to stop you and you had a license issued to you but didn't have it with you we would write you for fail to exhibit and then on your court date all you had to do was show the prosecutor your license and they would dismiss the ticket. Every jurisdiction will be different on how they handle it.
