well new century is in bad shape there trying to go public with a 10 million debt..in this economy trying to go to the public and ask for a bail out for a trucking company it isnt going to happen.. new century has had in the past few months at least 100 drivers quit...there frieghtr rates are going doww to compete with the ltl industry.. New century is on the same path as what jevic did... If you go to work for new century dont look at it as a long term career move...I know most drivers think they know a company from looking at a shiney coat of paint. But trust me its not all about that..

I know of a quite a few drivers that are very unhappy there. I have been away from there for 10 months due to my work injury. But now I am back on the road again with better people to work for. New Century was KIND enough to terminate me after doctor released me. I think they actually did me a favor! Now I run all no touch loads, alot of drop and hooks. I get good miles and run good equipment. The NC drivers I have come across in the truck stops all say the same. Dispatch is getting worse and management couldn't give a rats --- about any problems. It's get the stops off and stop complaining. DEATH EARS! All the guys say it has gotten worse on sitting time waitng for loads once you get empty. One driver even said he reminded the back haul dispatcher is 14 hour clock was running to get him moving on a load. The guy in dispatch said fine if you think you are going to push me you can take your 10 and call me in the morning. Nice attitude for dispatch.I hope more drivers quit I am glad I didn't get to go back and see how bad it has gotten. I am sure going to miss getting back to Westampton at 0700 with hours to run and be told be ready for 2200 tonight. Gee I gonna miss em. So any of you New Century guys get sick of their BULL ---- give Millis Transfer a call. Nice people to work for! No bull, straight up front. I haven't waited for more than 15 mins. to get next load after empty. Lots of luck NC drivers and be careful not to get hurt. If you do they will get rid of you like the morning trash!

Back in June my son-in-law applied for at job at N/C. They had an open house at the former Jevic terminal in Delanco. There were so many people applying for jobs there, the parking lot was over flowing with cars, Even a swift truck pulled up and the driver jumped out to apply for a job. I guess alot of people must want to drive for N/C.

well you said the magical word swift.. its a training company for a new breed of wanna bes out here trust me that swift driver didnt get a job at new century ill bet the bank on it.. For the industry in whole new century is one of the top payed on paper in the industry.. as was Jevic.. But if someone gives you 5.00 a mile and you only roll 5 miles a day your still not making any money..New century is in bad shape its public news there looking to go public to bail them selves out of the debt there in there trying the same old thing harry did with jevic.. when it gets to big it willl be sold off be just naother trucking company.. I dont know if most people understand the work you have to do or NC.. Ask mushroom what goes on there. you might roll in the yard with hours to use at 8am And wont roll out till around midnite to be 500 miles way with a guarantee delivery on board.. and god help you if you dont make harrys money maker.. he makes a ton of money on them but you wont get one extra penny.. there is alot of problems with nc so if anyone reads theses posts and thinks they know more then anyone here about the company please rethink it...

"I worked there for 11 years " yet NC has only been in operation for not quite 10 years , JEVIC was a whole different story at the end.

Been here a month now myself. Feels like a big company to me-work hard, but the pay is good. On hometime until Tuesday, then back out for another four weeks. Finally paying off some bills that have been building for awhile now. Been in the shop and like other large companies-they do what they have to to keep you rolling. They did fix my apu quickly though (once I got in the shop).

*just a note* choosing hometime in four weeks-going on vaca in October. usually get by the house every week anyway.
