You will continue to get the clogging in the DPF system JW. All the engine company's are having this issue.
They have started to replace the injector on the turbo in our trucks every 50,000. Cummins guy said it will be a regular maintenance item. Because they will clog to not working if they do not keep that fuel injector clean.
The CAT engines from 2007-9 are having even worse issues. And they are being sued by quite a few company's to have Cummins or Detroit engines put in the trucks to replace the non-working Cat ones.
I hear that the new 2010 engines should not have as many of the EGR issues or DPF issues. Since with the after treatment it allowed them to clock back on the EGR, and they are not making as much soot now. So engines should be able to regen the stuff out while running without any issue.
That is the theory at least. And from what I can find to read on them it is sound.

When you posted about your cooler I kept thinking eather head or injector gaskets. So I see that the mechanics thought that direction on that other truck as well.
Hope you all get fixed up soon.

I go to Central SLC next week and am quite pumped. I drove for TMC in the 90s and really liked Flatbedding. No lumpers, most customers are very happy to see you, get some exercise, and alot less Backing/Docks/Alley docks. Not many Flatbed opportunities without current exp. here in AZ. Central seems to have been very straight with me and I have no cost for school under their new veteran's program.
Tonight I was driving into West Phoenix on I-10 and saw:biggrin_25525: two Pete 386s with Benson flats, very first class. As I pulled past them they were both Central Refrigerated Service Tractors. Is there a Flatbed division? How can you get to it if it exists?:biggrin_25515:

Central has a small flatbed fleet.
They haul freight for Jerry and I do not think they hire them out much for outside work. At least they did not when I was with them.
The drivers that were on that fleet then were all local to SLC. And they ran out and back.

They hire from FL every now and then. But they really limit the number of drivers they take from there, due to not having allot of freight contracts in the area. So they have a hard time getting the drivers home, or back out.
They had a cut off around Tampa at one point I remember.
Then for a good year were not hiring out of FL at all.
So you will have to check with a recruiter.

Sitting at Pontoon beach till 2300, when I did not want to be. Ahhhhhh
Heartland in the bobtail line if you happen to come by and I am up.

they arent hiring for flatbed. Not since they stopped the construction on the casino in vegas. The flatbedders are pulling dedicated dry vans now.

I think im stuck in the NW black hole. Im back in Montana. I can look forward to a 300+ mile deadhead to pick up my next load :biggrin_25513: So I am sitting in Columbus MT, waiting to deliver my load to Sysco at 1000

    I feel your pain.
I ran 100 miles to deliver this morning. Then another 140 up here to Pontoon beach to pick up an ok 380 mile load.
But when I got here they canceled my dispatch, it seems the delivery time was finally set, and it was for the 13th lol.
So I got another load out of here, but it is just a run up to Romeoville IL. (Chicago area). And cannot pick up till after 2100.
So I am taking a 10, and it is due for delivery at 0700. So I will get there early.
Then they just gave me a 25 mile load out of Romeoville, that picks up when I am empty.
So I will run that up, then have to break right near Chicago for a 10.
    Crappy day ahead.

On the flatbed thing, I knew why they bought them. I just could not figure out why he saw Central trucks pulling flats, if the fleet is not doing that now. And that they were not the Volvo's that did it before.

The gray 387 is the wrecker for central and every once in a while it will pull a trailer. All the flatbed trucks are Volvo's with drop axles, and all are company trucks. There are no O/O 386's on the flatbed fleet.
