When it comes to split breaks like that.

Its just rules to a different game. Get it figured out, and its not that hard. "Ms. Elogs" figures that out for me now. If she doesn't like my figurin' we don't go a truckin'! Gives me another female to argue with!

Lessee... Ms Elogs is constantly accusing me of driving without hours to do so - I tell her she's a lyin' ******! Ms GPS tells me I am ignoring her, I retort that she's not taking my needs into consideration. She tells me that she is recomputing, I think she is just being obstinant.

    Need I say more??

Being tired is relative. Sometimes I'm driving at night and sometimes I'm driving in the day. There is never the perfect circumstance where I drive the same hours and sleep the same hours from day to day. It's the nature of the job. If I only drive when circumstances are absolutely perfect, I'll never drive at all. Like most people, I have common sense. When I judge myself too tired to drive, I pull over and sleep for 1/2 hr which does the trick. Just seems like on this site you can say the most innocent thing and it ends up being controversial.

Once I start the split break....do I have to stay with it until I have 34 or can I drop it at the end of my first day if desired?

Do whatever you like, there are no restrictions to how often or for how long you do split break(s).
I always get back to the 10 hr break the very next break, because it is easier for me, but some guys do the split all the time. I only did 2 split breaks at my last job because I had to or I wouldn't make my destination in time.
(and, you never have to take a 34 hr break.)
