Rand froze the current Beta Version to make it the "Golden" version to give to QA. We are finalizing the release notes. Hopefully within a few days we will have them ready enough for me to publish here ahead of the scheduled release date.
Thanks,
Mark

Can someone that has a working TND 700 with the T7E firmware on it please tell me there settings.ini file settings. I have a settings file with
[GPS]
BaudRate=38400
PortName=COM7:
GPSDetectMode=2
[SystemInfo]
IsSetVolumeBeforePlaySound=0
IsPlaySoundTrue = 0
[Route]
IsEnableRouteRecovery=1
and one with
[GPS]
BaudRate=9600
PortName=COM1:
GPSDetectMode=2
[Route]
IsEnableRouteRecovery=1
I am just wondering what one is correct. i want to verify settings.
edit: well i changed the baud rate from the 38400 to 9600 and nothing changed. i am now gonna change the com channel and see if that effects anything. It does say 0/13 satellites used/seen so its seeing the satellites but just not using them. This is killing me. no gps.Last edited: Sep 5, 2010

Whats the deal with the micro sd? Doles it provide any benefit? I know its for extra storage, but to store what?

Matt, it is the first one. Like I mentioned on the phone in a prior conversation the TND has a hardware issue. It has to be replaced. Did you keep trying to get ahold of the TA where you bought it to get a copy of the receipt? That would be the easiest way to get the unit exchanged. Call the manager and give him the date and approx time. They will look it up and they can provide a duplicate receipt. I mentioned this in our phone conversation several days ago. With the receipt you then can get the TND exchanged at any TA.
Thanks,
Mark -
No its labor day so i am gonna call Tuesday to see if i can get ahold of anyone. But The problem is i am on the road, the TA is down in texas, I am in Nebraska no where near a fax machine. Maybe they can email it to me and i can print it out since i have a printer in the truck. oh well ill keep trying in the mean time If rand sends me a box ill pack this thing up and ship it to them. it aint doing me any good as a paperweight.

i just got 1 today tnd 500 # the loves in jackson,ga $349. and so far so good, hooked it up 2 my computer and everything went fine

Matt, their is more than one way to skin a cat here... Even though it is labor day weekend, the TA is still open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call them, talk to a manager and explain that you are on the road. When you get to a truck stop call him back and let him know where you are and the fax number at the truck stop. I am sure once he finds the receipt he can put a note on it and the next manager will see the note and be expecting your call.
It may take him a little while as they would not probably rush looking, but be nice and let him know that your TND needs exchanging. The longer you wait the closer you get to the 30 day exchange period with the TA.
Even if they are in Texas, they can fax it to you while you are on your ten hour break.
I am pushing this as this would take a couple of days to resolve with the receipt and exchanging with the TA versus 2-5 weeks with Rand support and the RMA exchange.
Thanks,

alright mark. im beat. im gonna call them tomorrow when we get done with our load. i have tried files, updating, everything and still nothing. i give up trying to fix it. Hopefully everything can go as planned and i can get a new unit.

Matt, I do not mean to kind of sound like Rand does not want to fix your TND, but I know how important it is to keep you on the road with an working TND. Their is only one file that controls the hardware for the antenna and we verified that is correct.
I do not have a T7E to physically replace your TND with at this time, and to keep you from having to wait 2-5 weeks for a replacement, the warrenty is your best choice at this time. This will only take a few days and this can be done on the road.
Let me know how it goes with the TA.
Thanks,
Mark
