1996 fuel temp wire identification

Ok, I've read all related posts to fuel wire mods. No one has clearly answered what I need to know. I have a three wire sensor with red, white and black wires. No green. I could be looking in the wrong place. My filter housing has no sensor. However the block bolted to the rear of air comp does. Fuel supply and return lines so I'm guessing that is the temp sensor. Which wire do I install the 150 ohm resistor in line with? Also info on the boost wire would be helpful too. Thanks
