Removing Remove Turbo Air Heater on Volvo engines helps with better air flow into air chambers for better fuel mix i.e. less diesel fuel out of exhaust pipe, better engine response, etc.
I manages to remove heater spirals (the block about 40% of air flow) out of the Turbo Air Heater block on my VOLVO D12D engine, but the problem I faced right away is ECM testing all engine parts, sensors, circuits, etc. and gives me error code for Turbo Air Heater circuit fault.
The heater block has dual heater spirals made out of tungsten (???) powered by 12V, and have two wires coming back to the ECM.
I just disconnected all the wiring hooking up to the heater spirals, and get the fault code. Can anyone suggest me any way to circuit the sensor wires that the fault code is not generated?
Any suggestions are appreciated.

No help on the code but I think it will start harder this winter.

I actually managed to short circuit the two sensor wires to the ground, but now I am getting "Check Engine ECM at next stop" message.
I drove another VOLVO last winter without the heater. No big problems.
Other friends that own VOLVO's have the heater removed and turbo gasket replaced with the one having bigger wholes. They claim to have way better response to throttle this way, and better fuel economy, since the fuel mix is more oxygen rich. -
Wouldn't the ECM richen the fuel mixture when it sense more air coming into the engine? After all that's one of it's jobs...
