I was working for Swift for the last year I had some really great times until my partner of 5 months got himself fired and we had just gotten the new truck (he was O/O) I had just finished flatbed training and literally 2 hours later he got fired...so here I am without a job because I havent quite gotten the guts up to go back and ask for my job back, and also not quite sure if I want to anymore, I miss driving really bad, but as a single female out there I found it was hard to do anything without getting harrassed, now granted there were and are a lot of nice truckers out there that were polite, and Im not talking about the joking around cause myself I find the jokes hilarious....Ive met some pretty awesome people over the road and I wouldnt trade that for a million bucks....well....maybe I would....anyways, I still love driving and miss it too...so basically I dont know where Im going from here but I will eventually figure it out

Your right there are a lot of great truckers out there but there are the few that are not the greatest. If you truly love driving then go for it, get back out there. My husband is a truck driver and he keeps telling me to go for my CDL, not sure I could drive with him but I know I do love trucks! Good luck to you in your decision.
LuckyLady81 Thanks this. -
Luckylady81; Life is to short for you not to do what you desire and want to do. There are several companies that hire single drivers, team drivers, and single drivers to pair up for a team to drive their trucks. If you true desire to drive again, then you only need to apply. If trusting a partner as a team driver is the issue, then I can only recommend trial and error. If you know any drivers that you are comfortable with, or if they can recommend another, then you may find a person to trust as a partner for the road. Good luck and don't rush into anything that does not feel comfortable

Welcome LuckyLady81 all I can say thats its better to say "I'm glad I tried it again than." Than saying "Wonder where I would be if I had gone back and asked?"

Life is too short to be looking back one day and saying "if only" . . . . . .
Go for it. If after six months you feel it was the wrong move, then try something else. You will never know until you give it a try.
And so what if it was wrong? Six months out of a lifetime. You learn a few life lessons and build a few memories, then head off to the next adventure! -
Welcome to the forum!
I hope things get squared away and you get things figured out to your benefit.
