Well, I've been testing my TND 700 for couple of days now and have mixed feelings about it. A lot of the minuses are primarily from the learning curve of going from my Garmin to a different interface in the TND 700. One of the most important uses I've found in my Garmin, 755T, was being able to determine the routing based on mileage. Garmin's are no different than any other GPS unit and they tend to route according to what they think is best, which is not necessarily so. The TND 700 is the same. What I would do with the Garmin, with its multiple destination feature, is to look at a map, determine the routing I wish to take, add multiple via's to force the unit to follow that route. I would sometimes make three or four different routes to the same destination and then make note of the mileage and determine which route I'd take. I cannot figure out how to get my TND 700 to do that. It seems if I add a via that's the only place the TND wants to take me, nothing beyond that. Is there some way I can get the unit, by adding vias, to display the entire route mileage? After playing with it for a while today I gave up on it and figured I would post something here and maybe someone could give me an idea of how to do it. I've printed the operation manual and carried that along but that hasn't been much help in that arena. Being able to do that is paramount to any operation of a GPS unit that I own. If I cannot get the TND 700 to do the same as the Garmin then I will go back to the Garmin, even though it's not truck specific. I'm sure somewhere that there's a way to do it I'm just trying to figure out how. Outside of that I really like the unit, particularly the 7 inch display. I run mainly regional so all those truck features are just icing on the cake but not all that important. Thanks for any help.:biggrin_25523:

The ability to see the total trip in a Multi-stop is not been added yet. It should be on the next version, (not the one on 9/17).

    Thanks,
    Mark

Hey everyone, I just receivied my 2ND replacement unit and did an update to version 10.5.1652.1822. I'll let everyone know how it performs. My last replacement unit died on the first day.

I have been in contact all this time with Donna and she has been very helpful. Also Thanks to You Mark for helping other drivers out. This kind of support makes a big difference. Aside from the issues i've had with 2 units, I'm very pleased with the Support. BTW the new unit has the power cord on the left side!

    Mark Kling Thanks this.

Drivers and TND owners... the Map update coming out this month will require some hard drive space. Approx 5 GB... The way the code is written it will backup your data and copy the new data onto your hard drive and then over to your TND. If you use a netbook or will not have at least 5GB of free storage on your Hard Drive let me know. Rand will have to update you a different way.

Also, be aware, this download will be over the TND Dock. Rand is working on it so you can spread out the download over several sessions. If you are on a limited plan 5GB per month this download will take approx 3GB of it.

HIGH speed connections will be the key word on this download.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Would they send me a cd instead? I downloaded a 2 gig update for my TomTom and it took 2 or 3 days at the the library to do it. I have no desire to spend a week or two there.:biggrin_25511:

E-mail me with your Name, address and the serial number off the back of the TND, (backside on right).

This will be coming FedEx, so I need a house number, no PO boxes. Plus make sure their is someone to receive the package off the steps. I can send to your terminals also if you desire.

I need the serial number to make sure you get the correct flash.

    Thanks,
    Mark
