Don't go to work for "Myself", "Myself" is bad to work for and "Myself" treated me bad. "Myself" wouldn't fix anything either. "Myself" wouldn't pay either, always complained about everything. "Myself" made me run old equipment and "Myself" pushed me to the limit. So you have been warned if you ever work for "Yourself" hope you get treated better. :biggrin_2559:

No matter who you work for if you have a problem go to your supervisor or manager and talked to them with your indoor voice and don't talk to them like your on the CB yelling at some jackwagon that just took your parking spot at the Pilot and you might be surprised on what you can get accomplished, be professional. If it doesn't get fixed then go to the next in charge or maybe it is time to look for a new job. But what I have seen in the last twenty years in this business is that a driver will just come into the terminal in the middle of the night or weekend and clean out the truck and be gone with not saying a word because they don't have the guts or the nuts to walk in and tell them they are quiting and why.

You would be surprised that a lot of things that go on that a boss or owner doesn't know about. I have seen a owner of a large company walk out into a shop and chew some butt after a driver went to him about brakes on his truck not getting replaced and they needed to be along with two tires, he had went to the shop foreman first then his boss then just walked into the office and asked to speak to the owner after getting the run around. The owner got up and walked to the shop, no phone calls were made he did it in person. He checked the tires and looked underneath the truck at the brakes then asked everyone that worked in the shop to come to the truck. He showed them why the two tires needed to be replaced then had everyone look at the brakes and asked if they needed to be replaced and everyone said yes, he said I agree and lets get this drivers truck fixed and repaired and back on the road so he can make this company some money so you guys can have a job and I can afford to pay you. That driver was me and I was professional in handling the situation and never got upset or mad. I never had a problem in getting my truck fixed from that point on. It also helped that the owner of the company grew up working in the shop so he new about trucks.

    Just my 2- Cents.

I concur on all accounts of both points. But, there ARE some companies that, instead of greasing the squeeky wheel, will simply replace it. If, and when this is the case, you are better off for it. They might, also find a way to cost you a good chunk of change if you do it the way they ask. I speak from experience, here.
I am currently working for "Myself". And, yes. I put in more hours than ever, as well as pushing me BEYOND my limit. However, my fairly new equipment gets all the maintenance & repairs it needs. An once of prevention......... Myself is on the verge of expansion, as well. When this happens, I'm sure I will be dealing with the type of people you've mentioned, and I've prepared myself for these instances as best I can. My hope is that you, Big John, and/or many like you, come knocking. There is no measure as to how much it is appreciated. I cannot fix what I don't know is broke. That statement applies to most, if not all facets of life. The guys that just quit without saying anything are probably the ones who've been divorced several times.

iandrea and Big John Thank this.

I have done that. Gone up to the owner/president's office a few times. At one place it got the repairs i needed to get done. The other time i did it, i was asked nicely to leave and not bother the president/owner. No, my truck did get the repairs it needed.

When the 2nd one happended, i went ahead and gave my 2 week notice and quit. There are some places you can go to the top, and some you can't.
