Had one yesterday, guy brought in an insurance card that was expired, Faxed one over from his fathers business later, the vin was incorrect, and we will not accept a faxed insurance card if it does not come directly from an insurance co.

We tell them we arent accepting it, and that it will need to be faxed from the Insurance Co, they then tell us that the insurance company they use does not have the internet or a fax machine.

My Office manager proceded to tell the man how full of it he was.

Hmmm.....I wonder how that correlates with the freight rates.....

IMHO...tougher enforcement removes the Bottom-Feeders....Supply and Demand comes into play.....Those who play by the rules will be in great Demand...Rates will increase.....At least in a perfect world.......

That doesn't even make sense. If you don't have a car, say you drive a company car, or just run over the road, what are you supposed to pay insurance on? Stupid politicians.

In the state of North Carolina you can't get a license without insurance even if you don't own a vehicle. If you don't own a vehicle you still have to get a drivers insurance policy.

This prompts me to ask does an insurance policy cover the vehicle or the driver?

Not real sure to be honest. My policy covers me and my vehicle also covers any vehicle I am driving as well.

No, thanks to greedy insurance companys, with too much political power. The vehicle should have insurance, not the driver. I do agree with revoking your tags, if you don't have insurance.

Insurance always follow the vehicle. However if you drive some elses vehicle your insurance is a secondary policy. Note: make sure your insurnce will hold the policy limits if you allow another driver. Some of those CHEAP carriers have exemptions in their policies that will lower the limits to state minimum with a non-named driver.

Once again all states and carriers are different. Please contact your agent with further details.

WCP.. I've read enough of your posts to know that you don't think it's anywhere close to a perfect world..

As I've said before we need law enforcement and we need the highways patroled.. There's a few common sense officers like DB still out there, but I believe there is way more Barney Fife wannabes out there than there Sherriff Andy can keep up with.. It only takes one inspection from Barney to make you realize this fashion of "Safety" is nothing more than a sales pitch..
Overall csa is mostly just a PIA..

WTF kind of BS system is this where you can get an inspection by Fife the inspector, who don't know squat about truckin.. He decides to not use any vaseline on you and gives it to you good.. You're now shamed by what he's done to your reputation and want retribution, but your only option is to Data-Q >>> Fife.. Hmm.. No thanks.. That's just gonna piss him off so you'll get it harder next time..

Besides all of that going on, you won't be noticing any shortage of bottom feeders and greenhorns any time soon.. Quite the opposite I'm afraid.. They're like flies on a cowpie.. For every one you swat 3 more will show up to take his place..

The more rules and regulation systems they put in place the more they need to amend and enforce them..
All the while this has been going on I'm noticing the image of trucks and drivers keeps going further down the crapper..
Pretty much since the advent of the cdl..
My grandpa never had a cdl until after he retired.. He drove trucks all his life though, and somehow the old-timers had a much better image as truckers back then than we do now even without a cdl.. :biggrin_2559:

I think the main problem is truckin has been infected with too many blood sucking parasites and is needing a flea bath..
Driving will never be a "safe" job like the csa officials have who are shining a seat with theirass.. But with all the rules and "safety" you'd think this job was more like flying the space shuttle instead of just driving an old truck.. :biggrin_25523:
