now i made a post pertaining to outlaws in trucking and i honestly could not believe some of the response i got some on the subject some not and i could not believe some of them so I'm going to tell it like it is.
first ill start out with the subject of an outlaw trucker because apparently few of you no what an outlaw really is is. an outlaw is not Jessie James never has been he does not run up and down the highway stoned out of his mind on drugs in fact few use drugs at all and I'm one of them never found the need to use drugs at all and I'm still an outlaw.
we don't run up an down the highway stealing everything in sight and we don't break the laws of society. our equipment i in good condition it has to be we can't afford to attract attention to our selves, the DOT is the dot but there not stupid and we get less tickets then most.
the term outlaw started back before deregulating which simply meant that we run freight without authority we simply could not get authority it was to #### expensive we couldn't afford it so we run the freight anyway, a little different today. with deregulation we can get authority and compete with the big company's and i do and in most cases i get a better rate then they do and i still compete with them.
now we do violate the law but the laws of commerce not society there is a difference.
now some guy made a comment about the libertarian in the shine black Pete well the only thing wrong with that is I'm not a libertarian but what the hell he was half right and the only thing i can say to that is move to the right and do the best you can i got to go.
now it's true there are some guy's that run with bad equipment, expired tags and so on but there not outlaws just fools there is a difference my truck will and has pass any inspection they want to give me. i think most of you that start these rumors are just mad because we make more money then you.
now this subject i guess is on everbody's mind and the specuation and rumors are flying, not to worry no big deal .
the new 2010 regulations. first there not even finalised yet and they could change again before they make up there mind if they have a mind course ther poltitions you have to take that into consideration.
the new regs are a means of collcting datea on every driver that drives a truck , when you get stoped no matterthe reason it goes into the data bank which simply means that any cop anywhere can check your record in a mater of seconds using you dl number or your socil sucurity number unless you have messed up no big deal.
THE LOG BOOK now they have been arguing over the funny book for over 50 years and they still can't get it right remember you fill the #### thing out nobody else , just you.
the eobr or what ever they call the #### thing, you are not going to be forced to have one in your truck, that is a tool to be used when you have gotten to many violations and are about to be disqualified from driving it records your driving habits before you are disqualified not realy a bad thing i would imagine that some need it but it will nt be a mandatory thing unles you have really messed up.
BEWING OVERWEIGHT now that i can't tell you about it's figured on a individual basis body mass versis weight but i suspect you have to be very overweight tobe concearned.

The FMCSA is concerned about sleep apnea. One of the things that lead to sleep apnea is traced to BMI. So, they have an interest on the back side through the Sleep apnea.
While not believing in BMI as a cause myself, there are some instances that it does come into play. It is mainly a tool for the companies to comply with the FMCSA, but yes no rule in place yet. -
If anyone else can post a link about CSA 2010 and BMI, from the FMCSA or the CSA 2010 working group (not opinion from the internet), please do so. It will be a big help. -
It is strictly a change in the attitude of the laws in effect and their enforcement and goals.
The BMI has been in the FMCSA since 1997.
We still have to deal with FMCSA and their rules. -
While that may have been true in the past. It is no longer. I realize that FMSCA is putting that statement out there...only for the worse offenders. But lets get real.
EOBR is/will be coming to a truck near you in the future. It won't just be for the "bad boys" of trucking.
As more and more companies move into a defensive posture. They'll require their drivers company and O/O to run EOBR's.
This isn't about "the man" keeping tabs on you and me. It's about blood sucking lawyers that sue everything and everybody at the drop of a hat.
I know several drivers who run video recorders while driving, to cover their ###. It's about protection, not paranoia. Just as the EOBR's will be. -
I still believe that if the FMCSA ends up enforcing the BMI index, there will be more discrimination lawsuits than you can stir with a stick.
