Do you have to pay for it and how much does it cost?

If you're a company driver and get into an accident, I would say you would not be responsible for the damage. That's what the company has insurance for. Depending on how much damage, you could very well get fired over it.

However, if they felt that you did it "on purpose" or with some malice, they could probably sue you, but IANAL.

If you ruin a tractor trailer your concerns should be where the rest of your body parts are!:Wheelchair: If you are talking about minor damage from crunching a car somebodies insurance should take care of it. Even if you are an owner operator your insurance should cover it, besides the deductible. Don't worry Lupe they are not going to make you pay $200,000 for the truck!

If people had to payback $ for wrecking a truck, I don't think anyone would drive a truck.

being a student driver as you are trying to be...........

in many instances, you will be fired. if not, at the very least, you will be suspended for a period of time for them to investigate.

now, YES they DO HAVE insurance...........however, that is NOT going to stop the victims from suing you. you would then need your own lawyer, as your company WILL NOT defend you in a civil suit..

now, the victims can be a state, city, town, village, boro, parish, whatever, not just people that got hurt.................

Not sure about there but it is against the law here in Canada. If your employer tries to make you pay for damages, best contact the Department of Labour to make sure they are entitled to do so.
