Can somebody help a girl out?

Hello Texas-Nana. I would be very interested in your take on things as team trucker wife. Looking to be the same myself. I have read lots on this forum but not too much about H/W teams, or really much about teams who actually like/want to team together.

If you know of any threads that cover this area can you point me in the right direction to get to them? Do you have any going that might help me out? I thank you kindly for any help you can offer me! Cheers.

 

Taarna I have been driving for 15 years now and love it. I will try to give you some advice based on my experiences. before I start this laundry list let me emphasize the following Mind your manners keep your sense of humor intact and enjoy the adventure
1. Safety is first not just for your equipment but for yourself
2. COMMUNICATE with your dispatcher and the customer. Make a trip plan call ahead and make sure of the area you are going to and parking this is a good time for you to introduce yourself, confirm your appointment information and find out who you need to see when you arrive. Inform your dispatcher of your trip plan and ETA.
2. NEVER NEVER NEVER cut between trucks in a truck stop or any other parking area stay under the lights and take the scenic route to your destination. Many men and women have been mugged while cutting between trucks both day and night.
Try and avoid public rest/parking areas at night that do not provide security and good lighting. Do a quick glance under the stall doors to see if they are legitimately occupied.

3. Your dispatcher works for you as much as you do for them. Leave them a message of when and where you are going to bed this way should there be a problem they know the last place you were. Inform your dispatcher of any changes you make in your schedule.

4. Conduct yourself at all times espeacially over the CB. More so there than anywhere. The reason for this is we all know a lot of gals get to cutting up with the guys and having a good time which is great and highly encouraged. However the ones that get carried away with the whole "Cb Style" phone sex scenario thing. Are dangerouse to the rest of us ladies....Why?...... Because the driver they are talking to and the other 1000 getting worked up listening in don't know you are not the fantasy girl they have been listening to on the CB when you pull into a truck stop. 80% of the men I have worked with are wonderfull, 10% are negotiable 5% are scary and 5% Should be avoided at all costs.The CB dreamgirl is getting that dangerouse 5% worked up along with the rest of them. The CB is a lot of fun and a great tool but how you conduct yourself on it will lay the ground work for how your treated.
