    I will pass on the routing issues to Rand. Currently you are correct you cannot enter your own route. Rand is aware of this and this on the high priority list. I have quite a few O\S, O\W's wanting this badly.

    I currently use S&T for my permit routing and hoping that Rand will allow us to import that into the TND
    I know I bug Mark about it at least 4 times weekly:biggrin_25525:

    pushed towards the end of the Month... Rand is sorry that this will delay your updates, but some issues have been raised in QA that need to be addressed.

    I have been in Skokie this past week helping in Rand Support. Quite a few issues have been addressed, but the process of getting them 100% up to speed will take a little while.

    I have overseen\assisted in a few phone calls this past week. I thank you for being so kind and considerate to the people here that have answered the phone.

    Some things are going to be a little different in the way your issues are being handled.

    If you have called in the past all the way up to the beginning of this past week, please bear with Rand Support. New faces are manning the phones to assist you.

    One of the new processes when you call in, you will be asked your name, phone number, and the Serial number off the back of your TND, along with your address and E-Mail. This is to help serve you better.

    I cannot go into a lot of detail of this past week, but Rand is committed to make your Phone call a pleasant one. If you cannot get through, please try a little later.

    Mondays, are a very busy day, so if you could and it is not a dire emergency try to call in on Tuesday.

    Rand is still operating on a business day. So anything after CST 5:30 (will have to check again), you will not get anyone.

    If you are on this forum, I am always here to help 7 days a week.

    my unit has quit retaining my route when put into the sleep mode or turned off. when i bring it back up the route is no longer there i have to put it back in

    Most of the time, I use my computer for things other than Rand McNally stuff. Is there some way to keep TND Dock from starting with windows? By the way, my DPI settings are exactly how I want them.

    Yes, you can change this.

    Go into the start up folder and remove or disable the TND file.


    You will then have to start the TND Dock from the menu.

    This is my first post in this topic so if the issues I mention have already been addressed then just ignore them.

    I've had my 500 for about 2 months now and if it wasn't for the state miles tracker I would have returned it. I previously had a Gramin Nuvi 350.

    I think being an ex Embedded Windows CE anb Pocket PC programmer I may be a little more critical.

    The debounce code needs some serious work. When trying to scroll through a route it jumps all over the place.

    The unit is very slow to respond to menu clicks unlike other units.

    The TND dock update is misleading. I'm 99% sure my unit is not being updated every few days as the version number and release notes do not change. My guess is that your collecting debug data. That feature should be up to us to turn on and off.

    The speed limits are 50% correct at best.

    I have sat in the Walmart Super Center parking lot many times and the unit says NO Walmart near my truck.

    I don't want to use your log feature but I'm forced to. Every morning I turn the unit on and my trip has been canceled and I have to listen to. End of duty, end of day and so on. Then I have to go back into my history and start my route all over again. This feature should be user selectable.

    Many many many times my unit has taken me out into left field. Now I know better. It is set for fastest time yet it takes me shortest distance. Instead of putting me on the interstate it's put me on back roads that have cost me hours of time. One small town and a million lights.

    3 times already and just the other day it has put me on a highway in the wrong direction. Now keep in mind, I'm on the secondary road I should be on but it puts me on the entry ramp to a highway. It took me 19 miles past many exits. Then it had me get off and back on the other direction. THEN!!!! It had me exit off where I started from and continue on the road where I spent the night. WTF. I can see it needing to spin up and get it's bearings straight but geezus, it should have figured it out pretty quick and got me off one of the 19 exits before then and got it's head on straight. Now I'm in the habit of not listening to it until I know it's sobered up.

    There should be a search feature for us to search for anything we want like "Billy Bobs Chrome and Gun Shop"

    There should be a custom POI for us. I have an extensive POI list that I would like available which includes BlueBeacon. We like to wash our trucks ya know.

    The new version does not pop up.. it will show up as a "snow flake" in your startup icons. (bottom right of your monitor).
