The minimum number of posts for PM privileges was changed to 7posts in 7 days, i.e. one per day for 7 days to make it more in line with other sites and to prevent post padding. The PM rule is to discourage spammers.

It was 2 or 3 weeks ago that the change was made if I remember correctly.

You crack me up Gitty!! :biggrin_2559: If I can make the 2 grand I will definitely keep looking into the lifestyle more. That is what I am making now and it just pays my bills but alas I'm sick of not having enough money to have my nails done IF I wanted them done! hehe
To my knowledge the grand a month for Sharkey is for more experienced drivers and is OTR.
I'm reading three forums right now to help me gain information; New Wannabe Lady Trucker and a You Tube series of a trucker and his life on the road, both very interesting.
I want to thank you Gitty and especially Shriner75 for the help you have given to me!! :biggrin_25514:

A question just came to me. Will a company allow a driver to install equipment for satellite tv on a company truck?

The weather in Minnesota is not for people with a weak constitution! It gets very cold in the winter from about December until at least the end of March, I'm saying from 10 above to 30 below normally. It also gets very hot in the summer but not like the south for sure. Here, the days may be hot and humid but the nights ALWAYS are cool enough to open your windows and air out the house. I have to add this though, my central a/c went out mid June this year and I had to go without it. Let me just say that I'm actually HAPPY for the cool weather now!!! :biggrin_2559:
But I digress...back to the topic.

You do know you wont have a lot of time to watch Tv? And when you do get time, there is always sleep washing clothes and showering, + we have our laptops to keep us busy. I hardly ever watch Tv.

Mine allows them. Im sure others do. But make sure you have enough money saved and on hand. Alot of these companies will fire you on the road. And you will have to figure out how to get everything home without your truck.

Years ago I had a company go out of business while I was driving for them. fuel cards wouldnt work. Had to bank roll getting home from Ok. Cost some bucks for fuel but I got to keep my stuff. Then Mack gave us 300. to turn our trucks in to them.

Just a this past Christmas Arrow did it to their drivers.

Always keep extra cash, just in case. You never know!!!

shriner75 and MaMa Bear Thank this.

Holy cow Thank you so very much for that tip!! I definitely have never thought of that. You are completely right about the tv thing, I know my trucker friend maybe has an hour a day to watch before he falls asleep. There is always Hulu dot com to see past episodes of my favorite shows, that is a great website btw!
I have been wondering about the ratchet strap or seatbelt in the arm rests for security at night. Won't that weaken or destroy the integrity of the rests?
Please Gitty feel free to pass along any more wonderful tips! :biggrin_25514:
