I actually looked inside one of the lightweight Internationals, and if I wasn't training, it actually looked decent enough inside for me to consider leasing.

I've heard and read that they haven't found an APU that will work in them, is this right?
If it is correct, are you able to idle in the heat of the summer, and still keep your fuel mileage where it need to be.

Comment was made with tongue planted firmly in cheek. Just found it funny to hear IP (who does not train) "singing the praises" after leasing a brand new Cascadia.:biggrin_25523:
I've checked 'em out and it might be worth it. It would certainly force me to clean out all the "junk" I've accumulated in less than a year!

Small fuel capacity might concern me were I leasing and unable to gorge on some relatively cheap fuel before hitting an expensive part of the country. Of course that could be offset with the better fuel economy.

Anyone hear what those trucks are getting mpg-wise?

They're getting 7's on the average from what I've heard, but someone with a light touch may be able to pull 8's on a lighter load. Singing the praises?? Not me. I think it was an ill-considered move myself, especially since those "lightweight" trucks have a "lightweight" engine to match. I believe they have a 13-liter in them, but I'm guessing on that. IP was motivated by pure greed - show me the dead presidents! I haven't been disappointed on that either!

    :biggrin_2559:

On another note, they haven't settled on an APU yet. I guess those little Kohler boxes weren't all they were advertised to be. Bottom line is you need to get enough fuel mileage to support idling in the summer. They all have a bunk heater for winter though.

I have also checked out the Internationals and I could handle them. They also have some Kenworths that have enough room for one person. It is just the Pete's that are very small. I would be o.k with either the International or Kenworth to get my year and on to lease......:biggrin_25514:

Well I wish you the best of luck either way you go. Keep us posted on your decision. After going through the training at Prime you should be well ready to do whatever you choose. I just feel more comfortable going company first then lease. I would like to get a winter under my belt before I make the lease jump.... Just a personal decision though. Again good luck in whatever you choose.:biggrin_25514:
