Thanks Xcis for the T/A cb deals info! Picked up a Wilson 2000 for $30 after mail in rebate. The local T/A has quite a few of them. Haven't been in there in a long time and was surprised to find their cb stuff priced pretty cheap compared to other truck stops.

    Appreciate the heads up!

Search for sparkyscbshack. I have been looking at new radios for a while. Seems the General Lee is by far the most for what you spend. If you have more to spend the Connex 4600 turbo. Before you guys jump me these are 10 meter radios and I know the FCC rules but these are the ones that work and many either use or want. Just my view.

    regards

going after a magnum S9 myself, from GI Joes there prices are a bit higher than some other shops, but they are the only guys I could find that would ship to Canada.as for hacks and 'tunes' getting mine new on the box
P.S. still better than half the price than the best deal I could find around here even with shipping and the dollar conversion

Never dealt with sparky's but I've always heard good things about him. My radio is just a plain ole Cobra 25 that I've had for years and never had anything done to it.

I have had sparky's radios on an analyzer before....the results were less than desireable. Dont get me wrong, they sound ok on the air, but when you want your radio to punch....he's just not the answer.

I would like to know what model analyzer do you have? And what did you see? Most people would never be able to afford such pricey equipment. And it's not much that anyone can do to a stock radio. Other give it a good tune. But you still will not get a huge output. And anything that a radio Tech says just to sell his radios is not always truthful. But they do know that most CBer's are dumb enough to buy whatever they are told. Like 30-70 watt Cobra 29's after only a peak & tune. When the radio has a 16 watt final. So I know that most radio techs LIE. There's just not alot of real good CB radio Techs around anymore. And if you buy a radio from one shop that does say 18 watts. And one say 22 watts. There is no way that anyone would ever be able to tell one from the other. You would have to double output watts for someone to tell. Same with Amps 400 watts. Then you buy a 500 watter. Nobody can tell it. It's only sounds good on paper. But not in the real world. It's not like H.P. in your Big Truck. There everyone can tell. Just the facts!
