Again it all goes back to no one is forcing me to do anything. What I am sick of is all the crap that is being taught not to offend anyone except when it comes to those that follow God's Word then it is assumed that christains should stick their heads in the sand and not get involved with anything. The problem is that in schools it is OK to teach all this crap that we evolved. Gay rights. etc. and few complain about that. Let one of these kids voice their opinion and it is a hate crime and they get punished. I will not back down on my views nor will I let someone say this is OK in the schools. As a christian parent I will fight this trash till the day I die. Why is it people think they have the right to teach trash views, but the Word of God should be kept at home?

We are supposed to have freedom of speech here, then I should be say what I want were I want ( within reason). That does not mean I should FORCE my believes on anyone who does not agree. If your a Christian, Jew, Atheist or a Buddhist, say what you will but don't try to get me to change. If your gay or are for gay rights or the opposite, fine believe what you want but don't tell me what to believe or how to feel about it, say what you want and move on. Don't tell my kid's to support Gays but don't speak of God, I'll take care of that myself, and if they want to change their minds then they will. Many of the problems in this country would not be if everybody would mind their own business and stay out of others.
Why not let people differ about their answers to the great mysteries of the Universe? Let each seek one's own way to the highest, to one's own sense of supreme loyalty in life, one's ideal of life. Let each philosophy, each world-view bring forth its truth and beauty to a larger perspective, that people may grow in vision, stature and dedication.

News flash: not one single word of this is relevant to the discussion. Your Christian values do not matter--this is not a religious matter.

    One nation under god: IRAN.

Really? When did you make the choice to be heterosexual? I have to admit that I cannot seem to recall making any such choice. Neither can my wife.

Better read your own news flash and re-read the first thread. When you are on the same page then come back and debate the topic.

In response to a National Day of Silence event in April 2006, Zamecnik wore a shirt to school that read "MY DAY OF SILENCE, STRAIGHT ALLIANCE" on the front and "BE HAPPY, NOT GAY" on the back, according to the suit filed Wednesday.
On the Day of Silence, students can refrain from speaking as an effort to highlight discrimination against homosexuals.
According to the suit, one school administrator ordered Zamecnik to remove the T-shirt and another official ordered her to cross out "NOT GAY" with a marker.

Sounds to me like it is OK for the gays to get rights, but any one that opposes them is told to remove not gay from the shirt. So when are you moving to Iran?

Because there is no God. There is no bearded man in the sky watching everything you do. Welcome to reality.

If you wish to believe in fairy tales, that's entirely your business. If you wish to teach them to your children, I guess that's your right. But do it at home or in a religious school. Public schools need to be teaching facts, reason and logic. Now, granted, they're failing miserably at most of this, but replacing it with myths and superstition isn't going to help.

Yeah, yeah, I know--spare me the usual "you heathen, goat-raping, child-molesting, Satan-worshipping scumbag, I hope you burn in Hell for all eternity and I'm praying for your immortal soul" stuff. I do not, nor have I ever, believed in any sort of supreme being. If there is something out there that could create the entire universe, we would be less than amoebas in it's sight, so it obviously wouldn't care about us anyway. And if your God does exist, He is most certainly capable of making Himself known to me in a way that would leave no doubt in my mind that He exists. Until and unless that happens, I'll just be relying on reality over faith.

(Man, it's the 21st Century and some people are still convinced that gods and evil spirits rule us all. :biggrin_25513: Go figure.)

There is no doubt in my mind that He will leave you with no doubt that He exists. I hope you don't wait that long though. I am not here to say anything that you assumed I would say. I believe you have the right not to believe if you want. The choice is yours to make. I can not understand why you would want to go into eternity with those views. As you said If there is a God. Ever think what will happen if there is a God? If I am wrong for my belief in God's saving power His Son what have I to lose? If you are wrong what do you have to lose? You lose a lot more than I do if your wrong. Just so you don't think I am one to look down on you as you stated why would I wish you an eternity of suffering? I am a christian and I stand my ground on my views, but I wish no one a eternity without God.

"There is an element of fundamentalism involved, which involves the belief on the part of a human being that [his or her] own concept of God is the proper one. And since [he or she has] the proper concept of God, [he or she is] particularly blessed and singled out for special consideration above and beyond those who disagree with [him or her].

Secondly, anyone who does disagree with [him or her], since [he or she is] harnessed to God in a unique way, then, by definition, must be wrong. And the second step is if you are in disagreement with [his or her] concept of the way to worship, even among the Christian community, is that you are inferior to [him or her].

And then the ultimate progression of that is that you're not only different and wrong and inferior but in some ways you are subhuman. So there's a loss of concern even for the death of those who disagree.

And this takes fundamentalism to the extreme. "

George Carlin makes the point best in his latest comedy routine. No one takes as much flak in this "PC" culture as the Christians.

Islam,Shinto,Buddha can all be taught, but if you mention Christ.....

I like all the red words in the Bible. If the world were just to live by them.
    Well...

An analytical approach to all the worlds religions is not a bad thing to study.

    I've done it.

I guess I don't really care for the kids shirt, but if we must accept headscarf's, and daggers. Then a Christian has every right in the world to wear a t-shirt.....

    My humble opinion
