Truck came in with a leak from the "air control module" K3245 on an Eaton Fuller FRO 16210C transmisson.
Driver went and bought a replacement but alas, as truck aired up, the leak started from the same "brand" new module.
Has anyone had any expierence with this type of issue?
This particular module is on top of the transmission on a 1999 Volvo VNL.

Another mechanic advised that it "could" be the selector on the top of the shifter.

sometimes water gets into the cylinder for the range selector in the top cover. it corrodes in there and the piston cant move, so the air just leaks out. it could progress to the point that eventually you wont have low range anymore.

my dad lost the high side on his super ten once.. only had odd number gears and shifted like a five speed while loaded.. are was hissing out of the gear shift knob.. took it apart and found out that the rubber seal on the splitter had rolled (no lub) used the grease we use on the fifth wheel to lub it up and it worked fine for the rest of the fruit season. last weekend i was trying to get my gear shift knob threw a knew boot i bought and i didn't want to cut the boot or remove the air lines so i took the knob apart. ended up putting the hi/lo range selector switch on backwards and it started hissing as soon as the truck built up air pressure. shut the truck off took it back apart and flipped it over and it was good as new. let us know what the underlining cause is.. knowledge is power!!! share the wealth.feldsforever Thanks this.

Check the range piston on the back of the trans.
-
FRO transmission range selector is located inside the transmission under the top cover.they're well known to leak.easy fix,low cost around 40.00 for rebuilt kit.also check the o-rings under the air module.
