Does shneider reimburse you to rent a car to the orientation? I thank you for your help. I was about to go to stevens but got a call from shneider at the last moment. I am going with shneider. They seem to have more opportunities and I can later drive tankers which stevens I can not.

The Bulk Div. is a great group of people! I did my original training with them. They are much smaller, I think approx. 2,500, and a much more tight knit group.
As far as the Rental Car, I am pretty confident that they will reimburse you for the cost of what a Greyhound ticket would cost to get you there. The best answer will come from your Recruiter, though.
I hope that the "Surge Goddess" will be good to you, and wish you well! -
Hello. I thank ya for your help. How is shneider's trucks. Are they in good condition? Yeah, I'll have to get the amount it will cost to get a ticket for grey hound but no matter what I am going to rent a car. I would much rather rent then ride a grey hound. It shouldn't take me no more than 7 hours to drive there. So, do you think I made the right decision to go with shneider than stevens? What is the best thing about shneider in your opinion and what is the worst thing. I thank you again for your help. My recruiter will be trying to get me into orientation this coming up weekend. I am excited to see the country. Take care everyone.

as for the car rental; SNI will have the figures of just how much it will cost to get you there from Grey Hound. Since they get special discounted rates, what ever that may be in your case, that will be the only amount they will be willing to reimburse you for (Rental fee + gas = Total amount. So, if the bus will cat them $100, and it costs you, say, $150. , they are only going to reimbuse you $100. You will eat that $50.
Now, as for their divisions (Van / Bulk) One thing they will not tell you, If you get hired on with them in their Van division, & you end up not making the cut, THEY WILL NOT let you try & go to Bulk, don't even think about it. NOW, if you get on with them, pass the bulk side, and say, 1 yr later, decide that you would rather be in the van div, then more than likely, they will allow you to step down to van. It's like going to work for a company trying to get your foot in the door on the bottm level & once in the door, trying to change your mind & decide that you want to go from custodial to one of the mgrs position, Just not going to happen.
The same goes for being hired on for an OTR position & then see where they may have a dedicated or regional position opened in your area. Don't even try. You must stay in the position that you are being hired on for at least a minimum of 6 months, before you can "Request" any kind of change. Attempting to alter this madness will only get you branded as a trouble maker in which they will find a reason to get you out the door.
Hope this helps -
yeah. I talked to my recruiter today and I get my physical done tomorrow and then I'll call him. I have decided to take the grey hound bus. It will be much less of a hassle and everything is paid for so, this is the best route. My recruiter said he will have me on the bus friday and orientation starts saturday. Actually, I do want to drive OTR. I want to see the country. I would rather do this then the other for right now. I have never seen the country so this would be a great chance to do just this. I am excited about this and maybe later down the road I will get my haz mat endorsements and tanker too. My recruiter was saying they will pay most of these endorsements for me which is a good thing. Yeah, my recruiter was saying I will need 6 months of experience driving van and then I may beable to drive tanker. How is shneider's training? I thank ya for your help. I seem to have a good driver manager. I hope everything goes good.
