ATR - Local Driving...

    Has anyone ever heard of this company? I interviewed with them today and it seems okay. The pay is a bit low, but it's local driving in a Daycab, which is what I wanted. Plus I am coming off of a long period of unemployment and am just glad to get back to work... :) The company hires drivers to hire out to other companies and drive their vehicles and loads. In this case, it's driving auto parts from Fort Wayne to Chicago in what is normally a Ryder daycab with a 53' trailer.

    So is it like and employment agency for truckers or are they actually leasing out the drivers?

    Buddy, I'm with ya. A J O B! any job at this point lol. But seriously, what do you have to loose? I'd say go for it. Get some miles, get some time and get some cash. Make it work for 6 months and then if your not happy with them look for another company. I've been "off" for 15 months now and can't wait to get rolling at US X, but I wanted OTR.

    i haven't heard of them. hopefully you will be paid for everything you do too.........

    i was with Ryder for a while, i got paid for everything i did, like fueling, loading, unloading, waiting times, yard work. once i "keyed in" on the onboard computer, i was on payroll.

    To answer your question, yes, they actually lease out drivers to locally day cab companies, plus yard switchers, and they also have their own long haul sleeper division, which I drive for. D & M Logistics, 2014 Freightliner 72" sleepers and 2013 53' ft Great Dane dry van trailers, Penske serviced. Two ATR location, Berkley (Southfield) Mi. and Grand Rapids Mi.
