Think I will wait till MS works out some bugs on IE9 before I download it. -
nothing new
that i do
so why get a new computer, before it dies?
as for browsers there is oprea chrome and firefox
I like chrome the best -
XP is a disaster. It was once a great operating system, but because of it's lack of User Account Control that Vista and 7 have, it's a malware magnet unless run with a limited user account, which is a big pain in the butt and most users are unwilling to do. I dual boot XP and Linux. I use XP to update my Garmin GPS, firmware updates for some of the hardware I own, and a few commercially made video games that I own. I don't use it for browsing at all.

7 is real nice. I will take XP Pro over Vista any day. Vista is terrible. As for browsers I use firefox and don't have any issues, works just fine. Now if the kids get on it, that's a different story.

I still do get the gaming bug every now and then...so I dual boot XP. That and I still have a few gadgets that take firmware updates, like my GPS unit, so I have to have Windows for. That's a rarity for me these days, I have to remind myself once a month to boot up XP and get it updated. That leads me to my other gripe with Windows, is the humongous footprint. XP isn't all that bad, a couple of gigs, but Vista weighed in at 18 gigs when I had it, and I've read 7 is 11-12. That's a ridiculous amount of bloated code, if you ask me. -
I used to use IE for browsing for years. That's until I was turned on to Firefox. No more crashes, slow loading or any of the headaches I had with IE.
