McKevitt pay is way low.
26 cpm
plus fuel economy bonus. 6cpm if you can hit 15mpg
If memory serves me.
Gardewine is a Canada only carrier too. They have terminals in Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton as well as all over Manitoba and Northern Ontario.

Bison said for an O/O super single they give 16,000 miles a month and pay 1.39 cmp for a O/O including there fuel save fee. I want it in writing? Is this a paki job?
Macho33 Thanks this. -
There is a guy on here who is o/o for Bison. Think he said he makes well over 90K
-
I guess no one ever see's those extra 6 cents.....15 mpg! LOL -
As an O/O? and is that take home after fuel and Bills? I don't want to get rich , but if they pay us what they said and give us the miles they said, we would do ok. Do they ever put what they promise in writing? My wife is a CA, so good luck to them trying to fleece us.
-
So they just lie to you and keep your fuel sir charge and screw people over?
No wounder its a paki job/ -
Depends on how many miles he ran to make that 90k also.
Bison will pay you the fuel surcharge, they are not a Paki outfit. -
Do you guys own a home etc? Would Bison or who ever keep there word and be able to give us the miles they promised? We don't want to get rich, but we expect who ever to keep there word and give us what they promise. We are a clean living couple, no dope, don't smoke or what ever. we also have no bills or responsibilities. Would you tell us to run or go trucking? I want to work for a place in BC, flat decking or what ever and stay in Canada only.

Mckevitt and Pro North are both bottom-feeder companies, they like to cut rates and pay next to nothing. I wouldn't group Manitoulin in with them though, Manitoulin will pay you they just don't want you going over 90 km/h unless you go west then I think you're allowed to do 95.

How can any company promise you anything. Things change, the economy changes and companies gain and lose customers all the time.
Any company has a vested interest and desire to keep their o/o happy and working. Nobody, and I mean nobody wants to hire somebody then only give them 1000 miles a week only to listen to the drivers ##### and moan. It is expensive to hire somebody, there is economic reason to keep the same drivers rather than a steady turn over.
Now, saying that, some just don't do it very well. Some don't have a culture of treating their people well. Some don't pay well but treat their people like gold.
You need to find a company that is busy, read the contract they make you sign (as an o/o) very well. Make sure you understand everything in it. For instance, if you leave within the first year some make you pay for the decals on your truck.
For me a sign that a company is a good is to look at what everybody is driving. if the o/o's are all driving '94 13 letter sheet spreaders, then chances are they don't pay enough. Talk to the guys at truck stops, if the driver #####es and moans, don't be alarmed....we all do all the time. But if he is complaining and yet he is on his third truck with the same company, then chances are he is doing okay despite his complaints.
It really is a crap shoot and circumstances change. It may be a great company for 5 years or 6 months then things may change.
