Chris, May God continue to watch over you and your parents. This is proof that we are cared for in our time of need.

Well I just got off the phone with the dealer and it's seems they've both done nothing, and know nothing about my truck yet.....:biggrin_25521:

They didn't even get to it last week and tell me that a "computer guy" not a "regular service tech" has to handle the dash. So I asked about the fuel problem and he tells me they "looked at it" but don't have any answer yet. I asked him when I might get back into it so I can get running again and he says he can't answer that and told me to call back after lunch.....:biggrin_2556:

This is really frustrating as it seems I did a better job of getting things done by myself out there between runs when I could. I really thought having it at the dealer would kill many birds with one stone. Now I'm beginning to regret ever getting out of it.....LOL

I mean, it did run and pull (although on the last load it seemed a little weak) but for the sake of trying to safeguard the company's equipment, I didn't want to keep running it without that fuel being filtered.

I'm beginning to feel as though I've made another rookie mistake??

Can you get W/S involved? I would think that they would want you rolling ASAP.

Not going to be a lot of words, but it sure is nice having you here in the flesh. A little more so than just having you online or on the phone. Even with everything that has gone on these last couple of days, I'm still happy you are here. No matter how short the stay is. It keeps me going. MUAH XXOO Thanks to all of you out there that keep Chris going while he is on the road. I know he is being taken care of by his extended family!

While it's not right, but this is the reason you see a lot of trucks just ran into the ground Chris. Dealers, shops and mechanics can all have a way to just kill your paycheck. It wasn't a rookie error, but just the way trucking is.

My suggestion is, only take the rig in to be worked on when it's something that absolutely must be dealt with because you'll run into this "dont call us, we MIGHT call you" all the time in trucking.

I keep a running list of "needs fixin" and only have the mechanics knock out one or two things then roll out. These trucks always have something going on but it's part of job. Obviously if it's safety related that goes to the top. I also use shop time to benefit me, either 34hr reset or drop it off while on hmtm. I strongly dislike going to the dealer.

Hey Chris, keep your chin up you didn't make a rookie mistake. I have found that when your truck is in the shop you need to make a physical appearance. I know it sucks when you are at home, but this is the best way to put pressure on them to get it fixed. I would say twice a day go to that particular shop and see what is going on. Make sure to talk to the however is in charge not the monkey with wrench! Also friendship and joking around seems to go a long way in shop. So shoot the crap with everyone and keep them on your good side. A box of donuts can expedite the process too! Plus the better they know you the more you can trust them to just leave the truck there in the future. Good luck man!

I hear ya but that's a bit tough when the shop is an hour and a half away and I have no vehicle. But if the rain goes away I may just take the bike down there. I called this morning to hear, "they're working on it but nobody knows anything. Call back in a while" so I did just now to hear "Well Steve is outside, I don't know what they're doing to it but Steve called Billy at the terminal to find out what to do from here". I asked, from here? what's been done so far and I get "I can't answer that"....LOL

    The run around for sure!!

So I called Billy at the terminal to see if I could get some answers but it seems he's busy dealing with a disaster. Somebody caught a low bridge with a truck in Elizabeth NJ this morning. WHOOPS!

Oh that sucks, I didn't realize the shop was so far away from you. Well this is all part of trucking. You just have to take advantage of your breakdown days that's all. Like riding that bike of yours around in the great fall weather! Bike week down here (FL) starts on Wednesday. There was actually one time my wife and I broke down in Sturgis for Bike week! Well actually we broke down 400 miles from there in Wyoming. Sturgis was the closest place we could get towed to. Even at that we spent three days on the side of the highway in the middle of nowhere waiting for help! It was cool to be in Sturgis during bikeweek however there were no hotel rooms available so we did the ol' camping in the flyinJ tv room! Anyway back to the point of the post, enjoy your time down because as you now know when you are running, you are running hard! Have fun on your bike man, drive safe!

    Hey Sweetie!
I hope they have fixed (again....*heavy sighs*) what was wrong with your truck! To be expected with mechanical things but suxs when you want to get out and roll!! I think next time you see ''Old Betsy'' you two need to have a heart to heart talk!! LOL!

In the meantime if you are still home take advantage of the albeit cool but sunny weather to ride. The leaves in western NY are at peak and are beautiful this year! The snow *B-A-D word!* will be flying soon enough as we got our first ''hard'' frost last night. Maybe I should take up snowmobiling LOL!!

take care and hopefully talk to you soon!!
