:biggrin_2559: Don't be fooled by the "bargain" packages you see at truckstops!! I was at a flying hook and noticed an ad for one of their package deals. The sheer audacity of the ripoff was stunning.
This was for a refurbished laptop, running a 700mghz processor (very slow by the standards a the time) with maybe 512mg of RAM, and a 30g harddrive. ***holes DID throw in a $20 computer bag, and a wi-fi card worth about $25. but did it because the computer was old enough that it did'nt have one built in.
The price? $699. This amount is enough for a decent brand new puter.

Pawn shops are the same way. They want $300 for a five year old computer. This ACER I have now was around 700. But I could have gotten comparable computers (to this one) for around $400 had I been a little more patient.

if one checks Best Buy, Circuit City, Office Max, Office Depot, etc. they are almost bound to find a new computer at a bargain. Just watch out for those rebates.
