Here is a typical B.C. experience.

Several days ago I pulled into Fort Nelson, the Alaska Highway is the main drag through town, there are service roads on both sides of the highway. I would not stop in that rotten town except there are no services on either side of it for about 120 miles each way. I was wasn't there more than two minutes and a wannabe cop pulled up and took out his ticket book and looked up at my truck and saw me in it, then informed me if I could move it within ten seconds I would avoid getting about five hundred dollars in fines, I stuffed her in gear and blew on out of there.
I was going to drop some cash but I guess they figure they can just steal it off you first, pretty crappy for a town that was built on the oil patch and trucks.
