What do you think is the best truck to use for a construction company? I mean for hauling materials and equipment. I've always liked a Mack for that application. What do you guys think?
I dont know what a Pete 378 goes for, but I forgot to mention that this would be on a very low budget.
check out ebay...I don't know what they cost new, I am sure it real expensive...2 of the companies I have worked for used them, they are great for small and large applications. My last job had 140,000lbs + loads, and the petes held up great, including the -80 temps we regularly had.
ive driven westernstars, kenworths, petes, internationals and frieghtliners, no i dont think make matters. of all of those that i have drove one thing is always pretty close....the specs. day cab, short wheel base, heavy axles and frames, big power motors and 13 spd's, diff and axle locks and a good driver.lol
people say that the only thing different is the cab. except macks because they make their own stuff. but I like Petes and Macks.
if your under a tight budget, then go with whats cheap... Now I only see 18 wheelers with large construction companies, most smaller ones, drive the f-700's or your f-450's with trailers...how much material we talkin?
just lighter stuff then....cheapest route to go would prolly be a used single screw tractor and a gooseneck tandem axle equipment trailer...it should meet all DOT specs for hualing stuff that wieghs under 26,000 lbs
