Good to hear you took to backing so quick.
All that practice your doing will really pay off and do a lot for your confidence.
That gear up had to be 1 of the worst days.
1 of those mistakes you just cant hide!Last edited: Oct 20, 2010

Or keep flipping it off.
On a bad night after driving all day mine sometimes will turn off.
I will see a nice large hole, and it takes me 5 min to get into it.
Other days I can blind side into a door 2 feet wider than the truck.
Every day is different. Every day you learn. -
This is the cave I went to most of the time.
I have been to Springfield, and the space center in Independence also. Those are both much larger with ALLOT more room to turn.
I wish he had not cut off several of the tightest turns.
The docks are in the holes where you see cabs of trucks sticking out. The whole truck and trailer are in there.
It is rather snug to say the least.
At about 2:30 he is passing where my docks were located. On the right. 2 doors per hole. The holes on the left of it are to nose into once you got jacked around into the dock shaft. They are about 12 feet deep. The actual space between pillars on the right is about 30 feet. And they curve out towards the top, so you cannot get too close.
He is actually on the way out in that part. So the docks are on my see side as I come in.
I delivered to that location 1 or 2 times per week, alternating weeks. So Wed one week and Mon and Fri the next week. Did it for 7-10 months. Cannot really remember. Good run.

Dionysus Thanks this. -
Today was first day on the road and I didn't find it as easy...I'm sure some that struggled backing found the road easy, so we all have particular skill we may be better at...
I had a terrible time with the double clutching and revving the engine before downshifting...Hopefully tomorrow will be better...I'm fortunate to only have one other student in the class which allows for ample time to practice...
The other student gunned it and RAN A REDLIGHT GOING AROUND A TURN TODAY after the instructor told him to stop...I haven't seen someone get chewed out that bad in a long time!... -
