Well, here I am and again I'm waiting once again with the truck in the shop. Plan is to take it and some equipment up to Prentice. When I get there I'm switching trucks with another driver ready to go flatbedding. (good luck) I hope he's got a truck that is in good shape! Seems I got this one nice and fixed for him... lol APU works, fuel tanks drained, they added a new air dryer and fixed the inverter. So I sure hope my new truck is set up good!!!!! lol
I will officially be switched over once I'm up there switching over the truck. Then I will be part of the National Van fleet. So looks like I'll get to get dirty again today. Got to take chains up there. They are out of chains...
At this point I have no idea how long the truck is going to take. I actually hope its 5pm before I since I was informed that I have to log the fact that I started my day this morning when I wrote up the truck. I did not know that or I would have written it up last night, but maybe not because it was nice not getting woke up at 5AM this morning to someone climbing in the truck... lol
Met my new FM and actually got to talk to him. Pretty new as well. Seems to be decent and is understanding that he is learning as well. I'm looking forward to getting things going there.

Good luck with the van thing, I hope it works out for you. I also hope the truck you get is okay. You seen to have had pretty rotten luck with trucks.

Been busy, but having internet issues...
read them, but the "smart" phone doesn't let me post replies... I need an Iphone...
Joe in Marshfield. Seems to be a decent guy. He's fairly new, never drove, but said his father was a trucker... No big issues yet. Keeps me rolling for the most part...
keep it comin! Who is yours?

    Well....
I've made it home... Been around the south and up to the New York area... Got good milage thru this trip out. That is a huge plus... Only hitch came this week. got a 1200 mile trip out of Alabama. Sounded great, but the pick up was TUesday. I was empty on Sunday. And it delivered Friday # 0500 and had a second stop in New Hampshire. Get to the pick up its not ready. Sit for 2.5 hours and its ready. Not horrible I can deal. Pick it up go to get paperwork and it is only one drop. The New Hampshire is cut and it takes 30 min to get this info and I'm on my way. Now it ends up a 900 mile trip and I have more time than any man needs to get there. I make it up there and can be at the consignee on Thursday. Could have been there Thursday early but planners checked and said it has to be Friday. Learned from customer I could have delivered Thursday. So, from now on I will contact customer and check on things the day I get the preplan. So basically for this 3 day run I had 6 days and sat a day and a half on each end... All this plus I am heading home. So Friday I have to deliver at 0500 EST and then pick up a 2 pick up load going to Columbus Ohio. Make both pick ups on time and actually an hour early on the second. Bust my rear to get home and run into the 14 hour mark about a hour from home. So Sleep in the truck again for the night...get up and get home this morning... I have to leave out on Tuesday morning real early since the load has a 0800 latest I can be there. It was for Monday, but they moved it....
I'm gonna be rolling for a longer trip this time out. Hope my wife doesn't kill me... lol

    Hindsy:

I am planning on going to RDTC and then into Roehl's National or Midwest Regional flatbed division. Can you give me some ideas about Roehl's flatbed division and what made you decide to transfer from flatbed to van? I need some "insider" information on what is going on at Roehl. Feel free to send me a private message. Thank you in advance.

    Don
