Just got off phone with Leona at May trucking. She says the trucks are full and no trainers now. They are not hiring out of Cali right now.

that's what i was told as well, i'm still fighting to get in, i may be able to squeeze into a truck though, things ae looking better than they were last week when i was given that same info. I'm going to give Opel a call back tomorrow because i applied at Schneider last week and they want me at orientation NOW, no games or waiting for phone calls, very first call they asked me what date i wanted to start orientation. I'd rather go with May if possible but i'm going to tell them tomorrow that i need an answere or i'm heading to Fontana,Ca for orientation at Schneider.

just a follow up, i was told from a friend of mine who went with May that a bunch of new hires, including himself, quit, so you may be able to get in if you call now, i finally got an orientation date yesterday so i'm set to head to MTC's Orientation on Sept 20th. Good luck to you all trying to get in! just keep trying!

Had nothing to do with the company, just said OTR wasn't for him, he needed to be with his family more. as for the others, he said the few he knew that quit all left for the same reason, they just didn't want to be gone that long. Trucking aint for everybody.

i know for my friend it was just being out there and having the reality set in, cause we would talk about life on the road all the time, and to have a mindset that you're going to be out a month at a time. for me it won't be a problem, i have no one to go home to.

    Hello to all,
I have been shopping around for awhile and as always you hear good and bad. I have not heard anything here that is bad. Can I get more info from you guys about May. I have been driving for going on 22yrs OTR but the last 4 1/2 yrs has been local. I was an o/p for awhile b-4 the market dropped out. Got out just b-4 that. I would like more info from drivers that have true knowledge of May and not ticked off because they didn't want to work and did not get miles or just had big know it all mouths and got fired, etc... Just honest facts. Miles, pay, safety, rider program, etc... I know they make things sound good on their sites and that is why I search on these sites.
Thanks for your time and please be safe out there. P.S. I live in Albuquerque NM.:biggrin_25523:

it's a good starter company. some have even managed to stay beyond the 1 or 2 year mark. their trucks are governed and they are on e log's. good miles for someone who wants to work.

not sure the hire from N.M. though. they go thru their daily depending on destination.
