Basic trucker physical (BP, hearing, piddle in a cup, etc). Then they have you lift some weights and put them on a shelf (25-75 lbs).

    Nothing too hard.

Oh and avoid that terminal as much as possible. They park like drug addicts there, especially around holidays. They had so bad once, that I actually had trouble getting a bobtail rig through the yard. Had to fold in the mirrors to clear.

Can anyone tell me if Swift is strict or not when it comes to past record and hiring?

They are becoming more stringent in hiring from what I've seen, but it really depends on their needs atm. All I can say is try.

OP: Noted you're in Springfield OR. There is a friendly paper plant down there and a couple of Costco's that might allow you to park a trailer for some hometime. There are also some friendly truckstops in that area for hometime parking. I spent alot of time down there running costco, paper and Coke.

Well swift never happened due to a past history blemish. In a year or so It will be 5 yrs old and most co's have said to try again.I'm so used to working I just can't sit still. Need some experience and want to get in a truck bad! I spent enough getting a CDL. It's not even about the money at this point. Let's get rollin'!

When's the last time you were there? They got rid of all those road-kill trailers that were stuck in the back. I was there around Thanksgiving and right around Christmas. There was plenty of parking.

Denver, on the other hand, was an absolute train wreck.

O/P: if there's an opening, try to get on Jim's board. If you have a smart phone, show him the pic of my truck. He'll know who it is.

That was christmas of 09. Been doing a local job since Feb 10. I only drove with Swift for two years, but that whole 2 years, Troutdale lot was a mess. It just got a lot worse around the holidays. Glad to hear they cleaned it up.:biggrin_25515:
