    You wanna impress your teacher?

####, Listen, Pay attention, and don't act like you know it all. and stop worrying about being a stand out by 'knowing' more than you actually know. Ask questions.

    That will impress him.

I was thanked today at school and told my teacher was impressed when I walked up and said:

"I know this is gunna sound dumb, but can you show me how to do <xyz> again? I would rather ask than jack up your gear."

    trukngrl Thanks this.

Very well said!!!! Truckdriving school IS NOT about impressing your instructors it is about learning all you can before you get out on the road without one. Maybe then you stand a better chance of not killing someone. You wanna impress your instructor do what they say, listen to what they say, and if you don't understand how to do something by god ask!!!! Thats what you need to be worrying about...and just remember the old saying "No one likes a brown nose!!!" Good luck

It is always a good thing to ask if you are not sure. Any driver that has been out here can tell you that no one knows everything in this industry and if you think you do you need to get out of it. If you do not couple your trailer right you run the risk of A)the trailer being to high and running under the king pin B) It not being hooked at all and when you take a curve or go to turn the trailer coming off. Never things to make a good day. You did the right thing in asking what to do to make sure you do it right the first time.
