I know the feeling. When I was a kid we never had so many issues with kids. Then again, we ate more non-processed foods. I don't recall anyone I went to Elementary school with having ADD or the like. Maybe kids were better behaved because we could be disciplined by teachers? I do not know. Then again we were much more active than most of today's kids.
After we found out about the chemicals in one vaccination it was an easy decision. Considering some of the chemicals that are told to us as being very bad for you are found in the vaccination itself.
I only ever got one flu shot, felt like garbage for almost two weeks afterwards, as did many of the people from work that got it as well.
Are we being Poisoned?

Some interesting points here, and all definitely worth a look. I raised three boys, and rarely used the store bought baby food. A fork to mash up some peas, beans, etc, and they were good. Made the transition to non-mashed food easier too.
We don't bother with the flu shots in our house. The basic vaccines that children get when they are young did happen, as did the new one for meningitis. Nearly lost a cousin to that when I was a kid, so when that one hit, sure went there.
Another problem today is all the hand sanitizers and anti-bacterial everything. If you don't let your body fight off a few germs, you're never going to be able to fight stuff off. We played outside and got filthy when I was a kid. We washed up before lunch and supper, and that was it. We didn't even have hand sanitizers.
Didn't use a whole lot of processed foods when I was a kid either. We use some in our home, but not too many. Our meals were pretty balanced, and we were allowed sweets. Still eat fairly balanced, still eat sweets, and don't have a weight problem. We learned portion control without even knowing it.bullhaulerswife Thanks this. -
Too many chemicals, preservatives, and additives all around us. It seems like back in the 1970's in America, people were healthier, skinnier, active, productive, and creative. Fast forward to the future, and it's the exact opposite: people are unhealthy, fat, uncreative, unproductive, have too many health problems at young ages, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
If we grew and hunted our food, in other words ate more naturally with the absence of chemicals, nutrition facts, and ingredients many people can't pronounce, I don't think we would see half of the heath and psychological problems we see today.
Less government involvement equals lesser problems.Ranger_309 Thanks this. -
I agree with everything but the last part. I knew kids that were beat the tar out of by their folks, as well as the mental abuse. No CPS back then.
The cops might get called but jail time was not often given to these sick parents. I don't like some of what CPS does today, but its my firm belief that when parents abuse their children, they also abuse their kids, so its generational ,after a time.
Sometimes the parents need to be beat up some to straighten them out, and I hear its no picnic in jail for child beaters, as lots of the inmates got the hell smacked out of themselves as kids too. Payback time is a B***h. -
I don't think that jailing abusive parents will solve child abuse issues, unless they are locked away for a long time. With those relatively short jail sentences, I think that the pent up anger a parent may have gained in jail will be taken out on the kids anyway. No lessons learned in jail, so jail will be rendered useless, unless the parent gets locked away for a looooong time. I don't have kids myself, but why bother having kids if you're just going to be an abusive prick to them anyways? Some of the people that procreate scare me. Poor kids.

It simply needs to be made abundantly clear to the abuser that the next (second time) in jail or prison will be far worse then the first, including a very long sentence. Poor kids, indeed.
The worst are the drug addicts and alcoholics, who need to have the snot beaten out of them, then a vasectomy or tubal ligation to make sure it doesn't happen again. They refuse, take the kids away and lock em' up. -
Because more people are aware of it......
I grew up in the late 60's-70's.....I knew plenty of kids who were asthmatic...My stepsister being one of them......
More kids wear glasses for reading today....Oh wait....must be a conspiracy.....possibly the Bush/Cheney/Eyeglasses.com cabal....or perhaps (Most likely...) more kids are diagnosed for astigmatism due to staring at the pc all ##### day....... -
Well I guess we are just going to have to differ here. I can only think of
a few asthmatics and autism was little known about back then since, it was so rare. Lots of studies have linked it to the new vaccines that they give kids. That's why tetanus shots are the only vaccinations we allow. -
We were skinnier and healthier kids back then because it was safe to be outside all day. We didn't have to worry about drive-by shootings and all the other crap that seems to happen so much more to kids. The only time we were in the house most of the day was when it was raining!
We moved to a very small town earlier this year, and it took me months to get use to the fact that it was relatively safe for my kid to go wandering around with his friends, ride his bike, and other kid stuff like that. -
I bet if you ask your grandmother about her diet and the type of foods she has had in her diet will tell a lot. As you say we need to be better educated with the healing power of foods and plants. It`s called preventive medicine. Staying at the root of health.
Perhaps my blog will help some out there. Knowledge is power.
