can anyone tell me how strict is the road test with central? cause im lookin into gettin down too salt lake city around mid novemeber i already spoke to my recuitier ill be leavin on novemeber 12th as of right now. And i wanna make sure everything goes smoothly and i dont get screwed on anything thats my biggest worry with these company trucking schools, i dont wanna fall the road test and have to come back home and be stuck pay off that $3000 and still lookin for a job at the same time effhhh. Do ya gotta learn to double clutch? I was taught to drive a truck without the clutch and im really use to it.

They will make you double clutch in school and in the road test.
You will not have a problem with it though. The shift points are the same, and they will have you shifting at low RPM.

Road tests are about the same anywhere and if you can drive you will pass. They are not looking for perfect. They are looking to see if you can drive.
If you can drive you will pass. If not you will have a harder time, but most pass anyway.

A couple advice points on the road test. Most of the points have to do with safety. As long as you don't coast a car length in neutral or with you foot on the clutch. Do all of your traffic checks through intersections you don't stall the truck or hit a curb you should be able to pass with no problem. The double clutching like CD said is not hard.

150 should work if you limit yourself enough. The Central store had a 3.50 special for hot dog and drink which isn't bad. The Central grill isn't to expensive either you just have to watch and if you save your cup you can refill it cheaper. the 100 for orientation you don't get until you are seated on your trainers truck and you are under a load. then it goes on your comdata card. So it just depends a lot of the guys in my class where pretty nice about helping out if needed. There is a Winco food store close to the yard that's kinda like a warehouse kinda store which you can get a 12 pack of ramen for under 4 dollars. If you can do that for 2 weeks then you will be set.
