haha just what i wanted to hear hope they have a truck for me after i'm done with my mentor. guess i'll just feel it out for awhile and see how it goes. is it possible to switch terminals if i wanted? im thinking phoenix would be the next closest to vegas?

always possible to switch terminals. And if they give you a hard time about 'why', just tell 'em..."Fontana is a dump, and i'd be more productive for the company being based out of Phoenix". that is the kind of lame stuff they like to hear. =)

Orientation is good there. I'm out of that terminal. About 3 months back I think the new building was finally completed. Its a decent terminal. It's mainly just office workers like dm's planners and other office people. Orientation is'nt completly boring. The women that teach it make it kinda fun and will joke around. The terminal where you would get a truck from is Mira Loma, CA thats where the shop is and where most of the tractors and trailers are. Some do park in Fontana but I don't like parking in the street so I park at Mira Loma. Orientation is the least of your worries. Just hope you get a good mentor. I was lucky. When you take the drive test listen to James who does the drive tests to see where you are at before you go with a mentor. If you have previous experience driving trucks then you shouldn't have a problem. Any other questions just ask. I'l try to be back on been driving alot and haven't been on in a while since the website is a pain in the but to use with a smart(dumb) phone

thanks for the replies. are the DM's decent there? the only part of orientation i'm worried about is the road test i've spent 3 years floating a 13 speed (and i've been out of a truck since april) so i know i'll be rusty double clutching a 10, but my friend is going to let me practice in his frieghtshaker sometime this week if i can get ahold of him

Dm's are good I guess. some are good some might be not so good. Just depends on there attitude and yours. I've had some issues with mine but so far they've been resolved. Road test was the 1st day just to see where we were at drivng wise. I guess if your a really good driver even if you had no experience they might let you slide with going with a mentor for 2 weeks instaed of 6. As long as you know how to shift double clutching isn't that big of a deal. You'll have 6 weeks with a mentor to master double clutching. Well you really only have to double clutch for the drive test after trainging when you test out. Once you go solo you can do whatever. The trans in my volvo is kinda of a ##### and sometimes a pain to shift without the clutch so I usually use the clutch still. I swear I can do circles in a gear with the shifter
