I tore out some powerlines once, but it was a weak secondary (under 4k) therefore didn't do anything but leave a few burn marks on the trailer. That's ashame for this guy. I've worked around powerlines in the past so I kinda knew what to do, but probably like this guy you don't always get a chance to do anything. God Bless him and his family.

I tore down some power lines last week. They had them hung at about 11 feet so to bad for them. The guy who was riding with me started to reach for the door handle. I said, "Don't even try it" and drove out from under them before I'd let him out to go survey the glorious carnage.

Here is some info if anyone ever hits a power line. Once you hit it and it does its thing it will go dead for a few seconds 10-15 I think(don't quote me on it). Then a "test charge" will go through and liven things up again.

So be careful and keep people away from it till the utility guys make it out.
