yepper.. the application in order to get a canadian pardon for my old crimes committed in the usa are 1000.. i wont do so until i have the additional 1500 as well to have a canadian consultant handle the process for me (total-2500). i figure its better to have one familiar with the process do it than try and wing it on my own.
I was waved thru into canada a couple times last year after just a glance at my american passport ID card. wasnt til my 3rd crossing that the CBP had me stop for further interviewing.
I was never stopped at all when returnng to the USA.
one could likely infer that i could quite possibly be simply waved thru by the CBP should i try again too.. its most definitely up to the CBP on duty. but i wont risk it. i was told once i need to fill out this app before trying to cross again so for now there is still hope. and the last thing i want to do is ruin that chance by trying again and likely losing even the opportunity to apply by doing so. 'facing it' and resigning onself to the fact that one has messed up and taking an oh well approach to it and simply moving on wont get me where i wanna be and if we all acted this way none of us would get anywhere. i shall try. and if i understand correctly.. your trainer friend now manages to cross albeit with minor eyeballing but cross still he does. (the firing squad thing was just my sarcastic response to some of your terminology that i felt rang with such finality and certainty)
thnx for sharing your thoughts tho.

Well, not necessarily minor eyeballing, he gets pulled in by US customs every time across. Typical delay is about 2 hours. I never said to simply move on. I meant you need to own up to your mistake. Sounds like you are, good for you. I am also trying to give you info from the CCRA/RCMP stand point. Take it or leave it, your choice. I'll give you any info to help I can find.
You are right on not wanting to push the entry since you've been turned back once. The CCRA/RCMP have most likely flagged you now. Another attempt may get a ban for several years or life. So, it sounds like the 'issue' causing you headaches now, may be able to be 'forgotten'. I guess it all depends on what it was and the seriousness of it. Drug charges or DUI are hard to get rid of, things like shoplifting not so tough to clear.PusheR Thanks this. -
lol.. yeah but if they are letting im cross then yeah even a 2 hr delay i would myself call minor in comparison to not being allowed. and yes.. am probably flagged but even if not i dont wanna push it and really lose it.
the IMM 1444 is fairly cut and dry but i still wont attempt without a consultant for whom the document would be more familiar ground.
and no.. no crimes ever involving drugs, women, children or vehicles.
NYS, att. burg 2nd. under 100$ over 10 yrs ago (told ya it/I was dumb). i was sorta convinced into copping out to that in a plea agreement to simply stay outta jail. class E felony.
barely a felony but a felony nonetheless. and persistent lifetime headache. owned up to then and well over 5 yrs of time on probation/parole paid, as well as restitution.
sorry this got so drawn out. I just wanted to be clear(er) is all. trying to minimize without overly doing so isnt exactly easy. -
You have the right idea with consultation. Sounds like it should be an easy go. Then again, you never know what kind of mood the person looking at the paperwork is in. That is where the lawyer/consultant will work wonders for you. Praying all goes well.
PusheR Thanks this.
