I don't want the law to say anything. Just like it doesn't tell me I have to take 40 breathes of air per miniute. I don't think it should tell me when I can or can't work...
-
So your say'n you don't want any laws that affect YOU.
-
I'm saying I don't want any laws that keeps me from working as much as I can work and making as much money as I can make. I dont' want any laws telling me right from wrong. I know what's right. I know what's wrong.
If I don't injure or kill anyone. If I don't damage someones property. If I don't lie and cheat someone out of something, then I shouldn't have to worry about a law.
If I go east coast to west coast in 2.5 days, without killing anyone, injuring anyone or damaging someone elses property, then what difference does it make.
Only when I actually do something to someone else, should I be punished. Not before. Because since I made the trip without hurting anyone or their property, then I must have done it safely. -
If you can't do your job without breaking the law, it's hard to imagine you are a good judge of when it's time for some sleep. The person you kill the one time you misjudge how tired you are won't be thrilled with your awesome judgment.KE5WDP Thanks this.

And working in the most gooberment regulated non regulated job in the world makes no sence either when you were handed your first copy of the FMCSA!
For someone who doesn't like rules that should have opened your eyes! -
You think that not abiding by the law makes me an unsafe driver. You think that it makes me unble to think for myself?
Does that mean that you can't think for yourself? That you have to let the government do all your thinking for you? To hold your hand and guide you through life?
I've never misjudged when I had to go to the bathroom. I've never misjudged when I need a shower or when I was hungry. Why is it so hard for people to understand, that you can't get sleepy without knowing it. This makes no sense to me. I understand that people push themselves too far. But do you honestly think 1000 new laws are going to stop people from doing that? Even someone that works by the book. If they have 10 hours in for the day, and are getting tired, if they push themselves too hard, they will fall asleep before their 11 hours is up.
I find it funny, that the government won't tell us how many drivers have fallen asleep before their 11 hours was up. Only that the driver pushed himself too hard. Making those that can't think, believe the driver must have driven past his 11 hours.
Where are those stats? -
So everyone in all of history that fell asleep at the wheel meant to do it?
They must have, since they "knew what they were doing". -
I can tell you've been spoon fed the lies of the government. That EVERYONE except you, is too stupid to know when they are getting tired.
But, Do you not know when your yawning? Can you not tell when your eyes are getting lazy and blury? Can you not feel your own sleepiness coming on?
When I start getting sleepy, that's all I think about. Is how sleepy I'm becoming. I get even more aware of my sleepiness when I get sleepy and am driving, because I pay sloser attention to it.
Thats all part of being a safe driver. -
you might be able to do it just fine--i can usually go 15/16 then sleep for five and go again--but it isnt right and it isnt safe and i dont run that way anymore
sooo if you can do it--and it is ok--then everybody else should be able to try and see if they can do it as well ?
no thanks that isnt something i want to see--a bunch of holders going down the road after they have been driving 18 hours---
that is why we have laws
some people can run 3 or 4 days or a week with out sleep as long as they have enough coke,if they dont get in accidents is that ok as well?jcroom76 Thanks this.
