That scenario makes perfect sense. Glad she's not hurt. Car accidents suck, no matter what vehicles are involved.

It is directional...think about it...a Toyota Celica...very low to the ground, and the fender was "smashed", as in "smashed in(?)"...is there a possibility that the young driver wasn't paying attention to what the rig was doing (illegally I agree..the rig driver turning from a non-turning lane) and could have been "pushing" the turn light herself?

The whole thing isn't adding up when you really sit and ponder the entire scenario! The ICC bumper is lower than the headlight and the fender? The ICC bumper catches the bumper...again the Toyota is lower than the bumper on the trailer...something is wrong with this!

I'm hoping you're meaning young as in new to driving. I have seen far more young safe drivers then older ones. Almost every older driver I see is one of the Outlaws. I don't see how it's not adding up it makes sense to me. It doesn't take a rocket scientist. Give the OP a break just because a lot of people you know may lie doesn't mean this guy will.

The bottom line here is that when there is an accident you stop. Plain and simple. I know the road in question here, very busy at all hours, mall traffic and arena nearby. All the posters here have their own opinion but only a cop at the scene could determine at fault.

Actually it is quite easy to smash a fender in and rip off the bummer. Smashing the headlight could happen as the trucks bumper ripped across the fender and caught the bumper from the rear and ripped it off forward. I think the word "smashed" in relation to the head light is just a term.

It is the only scenario that makes sense. I have been at way to may accidents to know this can happen as described.

The excuse "I didn't know I hit someone" doesn't fly. From the description of the accident he would have heard, or felt the hit and sure would have seen the destruction he left in his rear view.

I have been through Wilkes-Barre many times. I find it hard to believe there wasn't a witness. That's the part I have issues with.

Maybe an alien abducted the driver, and so no one at the wheel of the truck?
