CB and an amp. in a freightliner cascadia

If you have a mount on each side of the truck...Most likely it's already a co-phase set-up...One way to tell is look at the end of the coax that hooks to the back of the radio and see if there are two coax cables hooked together at the connector...If so...."CO-Phased". And, in order to make it work, you will have to use two antenna's...Co-Phase harnesses use RG-59 75 Ohm coax which will only work right, if you use two antenna's at the same time. If you only want to run one antenna, you'll have to re-wire the mount you want to use with 50 ohm coax and run back to the radio...(RG-58, or mini-8, or RG-213 or whatever....)

The 99 and the 400w TS Amp is just fine...

 

Keep the drive down on that 99 or you'll be putting new finals in that TS. Unless it's the high drive.

 

Texas Stars can usually handle a 4w DK just fine...One thing you have to watch tho, is they won't handle Volts! 14 to 15v's is about max...Hit 16v with a high dead key and watch the smoke!
I would set the DK on the 99 at just 2w's, and let it swing....Have the Variable on the Amp turned wide open.

I don't know about the Cascadia, but the 2 Centurys that I had, the SWR's were terrible with the factory wiring. And they use a few Motorola type plug connectors between where the radio mount connection is and the antenna. So each connection is a possible problem.

 

me personally, I like 1 antenna. I have seen some brackets that mount to the mirror bolts for the cascadias but dont know where to get them. and most I have seen use a 5 or 5.5ft fiberglass ant. with that much power i would get away from using the factory stuff anyway. just my .02
