Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Ya the problem I seem to run into is when I get sent to NY, PA or anywhere in the far east nothing pays worth a crap to come back. Half the time I feel it would just be better to pay the driver and bounce home and be out less money that way
-
Yep, the key is to make your money on the way out. Nothing has changed in many years.
-
Ya I usually can get about 2/mi going out and a squeak over one coming back but it averages out I guess.

Does JD broker out the extra freight that the dedicated people cant cover?
-
They have a group of carriers and brokers that move their freight for them.
-
Ic not trying to be nosy just wondering
-
cpape do you require your o/o to have a certain year or newer truck??
-
I am not sure there is a hard and fast rule. Can't be a POS. If it is older than 2005, you would probably need a plan to upgrade. My father generally takes care of that stuff.

I saw one of your trucks in Delaware Thursday afternoon loading at the same place I was. It was a blue flattop Freightliner pulling a step. Nice looking truck.
